All true and even though I was ok with Marky at 4 X 5.5 I'm glad we don't have him at 6X6. Like the Sedins eventually you just need to move on and once Edler is gone we can really get the D in order.

I still think Edler is the most consistent 2 way defenceman in the team, Myers is close but as far as a steady hand on the backend, Edler still has a role. I'd like to see him back on a one year 3m contract.

Bergevin was very active . If they win the cup then he proves everyone wrong. If they don't make it out of the division he can collect his steak knives and participation badge like the ones Benning got last year.

They will lose players next year. Danault has already turned down 30 mil 6 year offer from them and said he wants to be paid like a top line center. If he changes his mind and signs then they will lose Tatar. Every team faces this.

I think when Benning said he ran out of time he probably meant at looking at other options to see if there was a better deal when we circled back we ran out of time.

we can have nice things too though. Signing Toffoli and having a better bottom 6 while utilizing a player on an ELC is something that's been so foreign to Canucks for so long now. Toffoli is playing 3rd line right now and doing just fine, there is no reason why we can't have better bottom 6 too.

This offseason coming up they will sign Hughes Petey and Demko. They will get Pods Hog OJ more experience and maybe bring in Lind and Rathbone?

Just take care of business this upcoming offseason. They could make a move but there is only a short list of names that could improve the team . The following year is when there are lots of big name UFAs in 2022. Canucks will have lots of cap room and the core already signed.

I like Boeser, I wouldn't trade him for Ekblad, but thats just me. At this point, I think the Canucks are in a holding pattern until these sh*tty contracts expire. LE/Baertschi/Sutter/Beagle/Edler/Roussel all need to go. When that money is freed, make the team better, but until then, management needs to eat their mistakes, and not try and fix them at the expense of draft picks or prospects IMO

Imo, Horvat has been better but yes, Boeser has been great for us. 7.5m to retain him after next season though... anyways I guess it's crying over spilt milk.

The Vegas draft probably had 15 picks thrown in by GMs getting rid of their mistakes.
It happens so often in hockey by just about every GM. I really don't know how much value a second round pick will have this year? If we use that strategy fine if we don't fine again.
