I think the Habs are deep overall up front, have a solid defense, and goaltending should be above average to possibly great if Price returns to form.
But specifically up front, when your top 3 centres have scored 4 goals combined this far into the season, you have a problem. Big time. - Rang
Two of those centres are very young (Suzuki is 21, and Kotkaniemi is 20). Having Danault being a none factor offensively so far hinders the team big time. That's a lot of pressure on the two others. Jake Evans is 24, he is not there to score goals, but I feel he'll be able to contribute from time to time. He's solid defensively though. |

So Danault leaves at the end of the season? That guy must be kicking himself over that contract offer he turned down last summer (if that story is true) - stinger67
I'm not sure. not impressed with kk' progress so far, that may open the door to Danault imo.

Teams are shutting down the rush opportunities for Montreal, word got out quick that they'll dissect you if you let them use their speed in numbers through the neutral zone.... gonna have to adapt and find ways to get through

I think his progress is fine. 7 points in 12 games isn't that bad. They really miss a quality winger that could play with him and Toffoli. Armia is slow and hogs the puck for too long. He's good at protecting it, but often he keeps it for too long and ends up losing it, or making a bad decision. |

I have no doubt Suzuki will be a solid offensive contributor and be an above average player over time. Probably a 30 goal guy.
I am not so sure about KK, he really hasn't been a consistent goal scorer at any level.
Any centres in the system who project as scorers?
I know Caulfield does but I think he's a winger?
The Anderson for Domi trade was an absolute steal. I didn't realize how good he is. |

The 2 best C prospects in the organization are Poehling and Hillis, neither expected to be big time goal scorers |

Kotkaniemi is a playmaker first, but he has a great shot, doesn't use it often enough in my opinion.
Caufield is a winger, and to be honest I don't think they really have a scoring center in their system. Actually, I'm already very happy they have players that look like they are going to be good centres in this league. This time has been lacking that for ages. Those scoring centres you talk about...well, they are usually gone when it's the Habs' turn to pick at the draft.
As for Anderson...still hate that contract, but so far he has been something that this team has desperately needed. A big, fast winger that can score goals. |

... and the PP is looking horrible once again, just passing it around the parameter won't result in goals very often, too dependent on the D creating offense with the man advantage |

I don't understand why they don't shove Anderson or Perry in front of the net and somebody else in the slot. They aren't lacking in options so it falls on Muller or whoever is running it. |

KK was the best player on the forecheck yesterday, kept making the Leafs do turnovers.
His production is notably better, despite playing only 13ish minutes per game.
I agree with Stinger that he'd benefit with playing with faster players. Perry or Armia on that line keeps slowing things down while KK has to stop in full acceleration.
I think he's very close to being much better.
Oh and he just turned 20. |

Any time you make a comparison to the Holocaust, you're going to get blowback. Especially when the party you favour tends to have more in common with the Nazis during WWII than the opposing party in regards to sowing racial and social division. Hell, Trump is currently battling an impeachment trial for the very offense she's blaming the other side of doing. Things are really polarized right now, politically. It's not good for either side, to be honest. |

Exactly, they're stuck on the perimeter and there s rarely a body in the prime scoring areas. Hence why there should be. |

She still should've stayed out of it though. When you're in that industry you have to pretend to be a Democrat or you're getting cancelled. |

completely agree. the Habs under Julien have always been too one-dimensional offensively. if they're slowed through the neutral zone, they generate virtually nothing, as we've seen last 3 games. but for the first time in his tenure, there's no reason to be so one dimensional. he has the horses to grind out opportunities as well.
