Quinn cannot be blamed for our top 6 not producing ANY offense. Zibby can't convert his chances and he won only 4 out of 24 face offs!
However, as thin as this team is at the center position, how does Howden NOT get benched? I realize we don't want to give up too soon on a young player, but you have to EARN your ice time and Howden has been horrible! The only positive to his game tonite was he won 5 of 7 face offs. Fact is: Howden got nearly 6 mins more ice time than Gauthier and for that I DO blame Quinn.
WE HAVE TO FIND A CENTER ASAP! - TommyGTrain
I am sure Stevie will accept ADA ($1M retained) a 2022 2nd for Rasmussen
It's not about intent. Accidental trips happen all the time. Bjork turns and takes Trouba's feet out from under him. It's a trip dammit - Bean_Dip
It was not nearly enough of a trip to be called, IMO.
Again, I pose the idea:
If that was Panarin pivoting out of the corner and his stick made what looks to be minimal contact with the opponent's feet and there doesn't look to be any movements that aren't related to the act of pivoting and they called Panarin for a trip, would we be pissed at the call?
I say 100% yes.
I don’t care if they have all left handed shots... have 2 left feet... have 2 eyes that look left...KEEP THEM AWAY FROM HOWDEN. Laf gave him so many nice passes in stride to take into the zone and he did not handle one. Not a professional hockey player.
I’d like to leave Kaapo right where he is (although a stint with LAF while Breadman recuperates should be coming). But, a trio of LAF/Chytil/Gaut should be a smile-maker for a long time. - Tonybere
That line is fine with me. Howden annoys me to no end. Haven’t had a Ranger like that in a while since Dan Boyle lol.

Positioning is so key for defensemen. Putting yourself even slightly out of position increases your risk of tripping over skates, sticks, etc because of the need to pivot or put your body in between the high scoring lane and the player. Watching the play, I would say Trouba is at fault for putting himself in bad position to get tripped up. Was he tripped...maybe. Even if he was tripped unequivocally, he was still in bad position IMO.

Moot point now. It wasn't called and it's over and done with. Shouldn't have to depend on the refs to bail you out anyway.
(but it absolutely, without a doubt in my mind, 1 billion % was a trip and you all are wrong)

IDK. Yes, you are responsible for where you put your stick, but you're also responsible for where you put your feet. Incidental contact in my eyes. And those of the ref who was staring right at it.

Moving on...
If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing the team is doing, what would it be? Can't be player related or something silly like "score more goals".
For me, I want to see more offensive pressure in the dirty areas. Too much perimeter play. Instead of getting to the corner and then looking for a cross ice pass, I want to see plays funnel toward the net, leading to more shooting, tip ins, and shorter passes.

Throw more at the net, less contested east to west passes infront of the net. It's like they think they're playing on xbox.

Find a way to adjust players to get Panarin, Kakko, Kreider, Kravstov, Buch and LAF as the wingers on the top 3 lines.
This is the thing, though. And I am NOT defending Howden here. But, until someone else can learn how to win a (frank)ing draw more than by the law of averages, we are going to see a steady diet of Brett Howden. - Tonybere
Hate it when we outwork the opposition and have to take the loss. Georgie played well and if he got more starts, Im sure one of the two breakaways would have been stopped. The guy hasn't played in about 10 days. A little slack! And seriously, lets not loose our minds over this season, we weren't going to compete in this division with all the likes of Bos, Wsh, Pitt, and the Isle. Can we beat them, yes, some times. When the answer is most of the time, then we can be angry. Take a deep breathe all! Quinn definitely needs to to do a lot better of a job managing the bench, stop getting caught up in the game and pay attention to who's moving their feet and who's not! Howden did win some key face-offs but HOLY poop! bury some of those passes Laffy is gifting you or sit down!
Lastly, he's really trying, sometimes, no always trying to do too much and possibly a trip, but non the less, you over reacted Trouba, and the man beat you. keep you position between the payer and goal and he doesn't score. At it again tomorrow! LETS GO RANGERS!!!!!

Haha. Sounds like someone wants to have the last word of....Im right....I win.
Fresh topic:
Can't say as I know a lot about his in-game strengths and weaknesses, but I love this guy. All the things you like about Torts along with a polite manner.

Yea he did. This is a reason why laf is here on this list:
