Mostly like the idea, the only top 6 guy that has been playing well is Buch, although the bottom 6 has really started to gel so I'm not sure how much I'd shake things up.
Why the hell did Buch try to pass in OT?
This place must have been a poopshow last night. - Fenrir
Buch had a great start, has been relatively mediocre the past few games. Just because he looked mean yesterday doesn’t mean he had a great game. Yeah I said it. |

I agree, he hasn’t been on the score sheet but the hustle has been there. I think a shake up could do good for everyone |

Pens tie the game with 18 seconds left against the Isles. Yet another 3 point game in the East. |

Laf is going to be fine. I think we all expected something he isn’t, ie- McDavid or Crosby level. Like old school mentioned, he’ll be a level below that kind of player. Solid two way forward, who we’ll want scoring more then he does lol. He definitely needs better linemates, not sure he can carry a line by himself. His skating worries me a little, he doesn’t have any burst at all to get separation. He’ll need to bulk up over summer, kind of like Kakko had to do to get that, build up his leg muscles |

Just makes it that much tougher to create separation. 18 loser points in the east, 15 in central, 12 in west and only 6 in the north. |

I called out Hughes at the start of the season.
Turns out he put on 14 lbs of muscle and is killing it. Kakko is picking it up and I expect Laf to get his feet wet this year and break out next year for all of the reasons mentioned. |

Also helps that Hughes averages 20 minutes a game and is their #1 center (f/o % in the 30s for what it’s worth). He has looked great though. But I agree Rangers aren’t rushing Laf or Kakko and I think it benefits them in the long run. Both players should have more points this year if it weren’t for our vets slumps but luckily neither are liabilities. |

Regarding Laf, hmm, I don't know. He had been pretty hyped up for a few years now. I'm pretty sure I had heard the word "generational" used to describe him, though not everyone agreed. He was certainly on the higher end of hype in terms of #1 picks (compared to, I don't know, RNH, Nico Hischier, etc.). So if he wasn't on the same level of some of those others, I thought he was supposed to be pretty close.
And absolutely maybe he still will be. But I'm not going to lie. I'm a bit concerned and disappointed right now. I HOPE it's because of his linemates. Also, if management agreed that he was a significant cut below those others, maybe they should have, in fact, traded down for Byfield. Or even with Ottawa for the #3 and #5. Hey, guess what? Right now, Stutzle has 4 goals and 2 assists!
Believe me, I'm hoping as much as anyone that this comment doesn't age well! |

Again with this ridiculous Stutzle bs
Peel back the onion and you see that he’s a defensive liability and half his points came in one game.
But yeah, sure, Stutzle was the right pick |

Did I say that? But would you really rather have 1 point than 6?
My real point was that some here seem to be basically saying "oh, he was never supposed to be THAT good." I strongly supported holding onto the pick on the basis that he WOULD be "that good." If management believed that he was significantly below some of those other #1 picks, maybe such trades should have been considered.
Again, I'm not saying he's garbage so put him on waivers or that he's Alexandre Daigle 2.0, but what can I say? That he's off to a great start and that I'm just as thrilled with the pick as the day they won the draft lottery? How can I?

That does indeed suck.
I have a feeling it won't have a great effect on his return date. But, will certainly have an effect on the manner in which he returns. I was really excited by his play this year. (not in a mdw kind of way)

Is it the skin, the tongue, or the ice pop that gets you going? Combo of all three? Maybe the specs or the parted, white hair? |

Yep. It won't be the last Ranger in COVID protocol. I am more concerned of the absence disrupting his confidence and development for a young player. Some players come back from injury in a rut. |

I don't feel it's because of NY. The system just hasn't ever been right and an overhaul is long overdue. It has always been asinine that the last place team has such a miniscule chance of getting first pick.
The funny part is going to be when they go ahead with their changes and then we win the lottery again anyway!! |
