In a weird way, I see shade's of Mark Stone in his game. He's big, protects the puck well, high hockey IQ. Needs to work on becoming a stronger skater though but seems to be in the right place at the right time a lot to cover for his lack of superior skating. - manvanfan
We will see what Benning thinks of him. I just read today it looks like the start date of the 2021-22 season might be Oct 13 |

Maybe he meant cruel and inhumane. Or maybe he's a bad shot? Maybe it's a really big barrel and really small fish...

I mentioned that on here last night that he has some zip to it. Get's it through a lot, not always on target. I wouldn't mind if at times, they got him out at the end of the PP's instead of Schmidt. - manvanfan
I said last week he should be on PP1 instead of Horvat, so that PP2 can be better (instead of 12 seconds of time per outing). |

No, just can't type. Finger's a bit cold from the -35. - manvanfan
It was -12 here the other day, I was at the gas station and there was a guy with Alberta plates filling up, wearing a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops. |

Hopefully a more regular off season will cure the bad start blues the Canucks experiencing this season. |

I close friend met Benning recently. He said he was dumb and arrogant. - Marwood

As long as OJ keeps improving, I liked the hit on Tkachuk.
If FA wants to keep JB, get him some help so he doesn't make any more stupid mistakes. - VanHockeyGuy
I agree, JB needs support. His consolidation of power (however it happened) is a mistake. Needs to hire good people he can delegate to. |

I really don't care if it was boring or not . I am not going to complain about winning a game . It was a text book game keeping the other team to 19 shots most of were not dangerous . One shot allowed on the PK . The scoring will come back with more confidence. I just want the consistency of play. - VANTEL
Yes, winning is all that matters. Style of play needs to reflect this |

I don't think I buy that as much, unfortunately for the Canucks fortunes.
By the time the other teams hit their "hard" stretches, they'll have played and practiced and be in mid-season form. There won't be the same drop off the Canucks seemingly had at the start of the year – they'll know their systems and be used to each other by then. Sure, they might be a bit more tired, but compared to the start of the season when guys are still gearing up, it won't be as substantial. - NewYorkNuck
Yes that will be a factor but some teams have 8 or 9 back to backs compared toe the Canucks 3. It will be a factor but only matter is Canucks can take advantage of it and jump on teams early ie take the will to play away

There was a lot of clogging up the neutral zone. It was effective, but it wasn’t entertaining hockey. I’m glad they won, they were the better team, I’m not convinced (after one win) that the can go 24-13 or whatever though. - 1970vintage
I guess what I found entertaining was that the effort was good, their forecheck was effective and their passing was better than it has been. They didn’t look lost. Maybe that is a low bar, but I still enjoyed it! |
