When I look at LAF and his struggles putting up points it reminds me of Svechnikov. He was playing in the top 6 from the start and looked out of place his first 12 games, 2G 2A and went 8 in a row without a point. LAF will be fine just needs some more time. No camp really hurt him in my opinion. - nyrangers9479
I think a good comparison for who he’ll end up being is Landeskog, or Bergeron. Very responsible dzone player, and just a shade under a ppg player average over the years. We really need him to be a leader aswell. He needs to be the C, maybe not next year but the year after |

Then why did he steal the puck from that african-american player? Why did he vote for Trump? Nuff said. - Kooleus
I realize it's lonely on the Kings thread which has been up for over 10 hrs with ZERO hits but your trolling is weak with little to no truth take a few days off maybe read a book on trolling and try again JR. |

Didn’t Tony D get warned after not reacting well to being benched that if he was involved in another incident they’d waive him. And then he was involved in another incident? I don’t know what in Gretzky’s name all you angry people are talking about |

He told Georgie to stop the fing puck, a player reacted and it was broken up quickly. That happens all the time in sports and way more than we hear about. Sounds more like they were looking for a reason and used that as it. |

I thought he would be more Mathews/Tavares level. He’s been hyped for years. |

I feel like what you said was pretty much what I said but with your take on it thrown in. Not sure why people feel the need to take this personally. It’s a business and they made a business decision. Not to mention he was arguably our worst d man |

Prior to the draft, he was hyped as a superstar winger. Names like Hall, Kane, Pastrnak, Panarin. He won't score like Ovechkin, but his impact will be similar. Exact words. I laughed. Still laughing. You mad bro? |

He’s probably the best 3rd pair dman in the league that we could really use to jump start this offense. |

I'm pretty sure the best dman on any pairing isn't a minus player. |

Again, why were they looking for a reason?
Who the (frank) blames their teammate for a loss?
Maybe Tony should have either gotten out of the lane or actually closed the gap to not allow Crosby to shoot from the slot like he was supposed to. Would've been a much easier save then, I'm sure.
We are better defensively without him and have the horses to score without him once we get this stretch straightened out.
Let's move on. |

Ovechkin played the season after the draft in Russia and had only .7 ppg against AHL level talent before coming over as a 20 year old and exploding for 100+ pts. If we’re using players 19 y/o seasons to project their NHL career, Ovechkin only ends up being half the player he becomes. Lafreniere won’t become Ovechkin, but he also won’t be a defensive liability like Ovi was most of his career. Do us all a favor and come back at the end of next season.

Teammates get on each other all the time and at times things can get heated. There’s been countless times teammates have come to blows and 2 days later it’s all forgotten about. Tony didn’t even throw a punch, but he’s the one to get waived. They were looking for a reason bc apparently management and the HC didn’t like that he talked back to them at times, and if you think his political beliefs had nothing to do with this I have a bridge to sell you. |

Ahh yes, 4th overall in points last year for D men but because the entire team was playing like dog crap he's suddenly our worst defensemen. Did you ever even play sports? |

But you or me or anyone here has no idea what’s happen in the past in THAT locker room. He may do this often, he may not. You have trouble letting go of people the rangers have moved on from. Like they say in Goodfells:
“He’s gone”...”what do you mean he’s gone”...”he’s gone, and there was nothing we could do”
I agree they could use him but I also believe he probably was a cancer in the room. And I also agree that some of it was his politics. And you don’t like it I get it, but people/companies/orgs, etc look at Trump as toxic, it’s basically as simple as that. They don’t wanna deal with that backlash🤷🏻♂️ You gotta get over that part especially
I’m not trying to start anything, just saying what the reality of society is right now |
