Jim Benning had/has no “vision”, he’s continually just threw poop against the wall to see what sticks and that mentality’s failed him miserably.

As a whole the organization needs to structure itself, again in my humble opinion, like a professional organization with an experienced president and let the chips fall where they may from there.

"we want to make the playoffs," is not a plan.

(not speaking to you) but yes i know that he probably has a plan (both long term and short) but all of his moves from the start of his tenure seem to always focus on the season at hand. it's so wrongheaded and that's fcuked up the cap.

why does a rebuilding team need 1 or 2 seasons after 5-6 years of rebuilding to get rid of the deadweight contracts?

why would you trust the guy who screwed up the cap to effectively manage it in the future? if the core is built, which most of us agree it is nearly there, why do we trust the guy who couldn't get the right complementary pieces the first time, to get it right now?

Miller for Nylander 😁
- mr.sir

Still no,
Nylander is overpaid.
Maybe if 2m are retained I do that deal... but we're already to soft so no.

I want to own an NHL team one day, so now I’ve got a plan too

Not directed at you or anyone else but I think his “plan” has always been to do whatever the owner wants and to control power within the organization. If you don’t agree with him or share his vision, you’re not welcome.

His pooh is to watery to stick, need less meat and potatoes and more green.

Only need 11 points out of the next 16 to be back in this boys!

5-1 Canucks
Hughes and Pettersson with 5 points and a minus one.

I think I'm gonna watch this one

Swinging for the fences: 5-2 Canucks. They chase Marky with 4 goals in the first, 2 goals on the first 3 shots.

Kevin Bieksa on the Aquilini family: It's three brothers that really care about that team and the city. [Yeah, they're around a little bit but they have the right to be[. When he goes to Twitter to support his coaching and GM, that's being a great leader.

#Canucks

that's the money quote. therein lies the truth. they're hands-on but who's going to tell the owner to back up and let the hockey guys work alone. bieksa was oh so close to telling the truth but smartly held back.

Jerry Jones of the north, it’s a toy for them more than a business....therein lies the problem and why it’s reported that people with experience (GM’s) don’t want to work for him.

you gotta stop with the jerry jones comparisons. jones has 2 rings!

FA is more dan snyder (washington football team) level.

Ok, fair enough, simply meaning he’s a control freak. Still, Jones won many years ago. How long have the Aquilini family owned the Canucks?

I seen a quote from Montreal media today and Freidman (before)also saying some GMs want to hold the draft in two parts.

I am fully against that. It is up to teams to accommodate their drafting team to make adjustments. I think Vancouver would do just fine and even find some late round steals . Keep the draft as it always is , one weekend.

It is why they don't hire a new President, as the brothers are defacto Presidents of Hockey Ops.

i agree too but different reasons.

the kids (adults by the time for most of them) deserve to be drafted and sign professional contracts.

they've spent their whole lives to get to this point. they deserve to get paid. fcuk everything else!

i just thought about that. since they've owned the team, they've had 3 GMs:
1) nonis - first time GM.
2) MG - first time GM. first time working for a team.
3) JB - first time GM.

is a person who is trying to get his first job as a gm more open to hearing from the team owner? does the team owner exploit that dynamic?
