You don't really need Roger to be your emotional tampoon to give you the right to make a brilliant point about the team.

We finally get a post since there's finally something to post about, and 3 termites come out of the woodwork to complain. I have real-life problems to focus on and appreciate having this forum of what's mostly the 10 of us to talk about the Mickey Mouse NJ Devils. It's such a small thing but I appreciate it, and without Roger we may not have it. I appreciate the time Roger does take for this (which does take more than 5 minutes.. at least for me it would.. heck it's taking more than 5 minutes to write this comment). Roger writes for a community of like 10 people and enables a platform for us to come here and interact. I don't see the 3 of you engaging with us on this forum often at all except to complain, so frankly you're making this experience much worse than Roger is.

Looking forward to watching our team take the ice again and attempt to embarrass the Rags. May the worse team lose, lol.

You're really going to refer to me as a termite? I didn't in any way disrespect Roger as a person or disrespect the fact that he is keeping this forum alive. I simply said it's not outrageous to expect a more complete post regardless of the size.

Also, in reference to you saying I don't engage: Often times when I do post something I consider of substance, it doesn't seem to spark much dialogue in the comment section (for whatever reasons it may be, I'm not saying I deserve to be quoted and/or discussed so don't misinterpret that) so often times I'll just read through and refer back to the blog/comments quite a bit throughout the week even thought I don't post often.

To assume that people are only getting use or enjoyment out of the blog by their amount of comments isn't totally fair, but I definitely understand why that would be something to be used as ammo against a comment like mine.

I do, however, stand by my point that it took Roger 5 minutes or less to write this blog. You mentioned how it took you longer than 5 minutes to write your comment and I totally believe that because you seem to care so you likely tweaked your response, read it over, whatever it may be. This particular blog didn't inspire that kind of confidence in relation to thinking he spent much time on it or even read it over before publishing. It's definitely not a crime to post the blog he did! It just caught me by surprise so I gave my opinion.

Go to Todd Cordell's site!!! it is the Devils coverage your a looking for.

https://infernalaccess.substack.com/

As for this argument between all of you, which I regretfully took the time to read, the "termite" is 100% correct. Mussa's writing does not even resumble a blog. If not for the people you are writing for, write for some self respect. It actually seems like he forgot to do anything and figured its better to turn something in than nothing. At least the Sabers guy writes a legitimate article (while it was bullpoop) it was still an article. You cannot consider Mussa a blogger at all!

I know what your gonna say... writing to a small group, I should sign up to do it, stop being a troll, etc. That's just not it. I understand that I am trolling but no I will not do it, which is good for all of you trust me! But, if you're going to consider yourself a blogger or writer at all... at least show some self respect doing it. Especially if you're a fan of the team. No passion! No thought! and if you say otherwise your blind.

Think we were a bit spoiled with Todd's content schedule + quality (even more impressive that he wrote for Flames sim).

I get folks are busy, but I agree with that fact if you are a beat writer of some sort, a few posts per week should be the bare minimum. This site makes $$ off ads, it'd be in HB's best interest to have more content to pump up those numbers.

With that noise said, I expect the devils to come out flying. Hopefully MB29 is sharp following the long break and the team can minimize sloppy mistakes. Important to stay out of the box and make the smart, not flashy play

To be fair, most of the times I come here for commentary from all of you and not the articles of Roger. No disrespect to Roger (well, maybe a bit), but I get more entertainment, quality discussion, and insight from the HB faithful vs. the minimal content offered by some of these blogs.

On that note, I just took the 32 seconds required to read today's blog, after being off for 2 weeks, and my god is it putrid.

Nevertheless, I am glad there is still some type of forum that we can all engage and take part in.

Looks like one of Butcher or Carrick may get in tonight. If no forward is recalled from the taxi squad or Bing(still plenty of time to do it) it looks like the Devils will be going with 11/7

Time for Ty Smith to take a shift or two at forward and become the next Brett Burns. Or at least Tommy Albelin who actually played some limited winger for the team when needed.

Tommy was a GREAT Devil and did whatever the club needed.

Honestly, I'd rather see PK take a crack at the wing position first. Or someone call Peter Harold to see if he is available?

I’ve yet to see a substantive retort of the issues that I brought up.

Thank you for helping to support my argument.

“If you don’t like it then why don’t you do it” doesn’t really work outside of the middle school playground.

No one cares about your negative opinion. I only respond to show respect to Roger, and because your perspective is so off-base. But the negative opinion posts in themselves are a waste and are the only black hole on this forum- not Roger's writing.

Sadly, Peter Harrold ended his professional hockey career several years ago and will be turning 38 soon. So not a viable option although a great throwback!

We will long remember his 274 NHL games (13 goals and 29 assists with 74 PIMS!). That's actually impressive for anyone who went undrafted and he was a pretty good defenseman on the AHL level.

Ironically, I think his size and skill set would have done better in today's NHL then when he played because he was pretty fast but small. He did get into 17 playoff games for the Devils during the 2012 trip to the finals!

I apologize. I'm not intending to disrespect anyone as a person, but call out the actions that I'm seeing. The termite thing was an analogy to say people that I rarely see here are "coming out of the woodwork".. and since they're bringing obnoxious negativity, it's coming out of the woodwork like something negative.. like a termite.

You post a fair perspective and I do respect it. My post was mostly meant for the other 2. Roger's stuff isn't world-class, but to me it doesn't have to be. He gave us the updates to what's going on and posed some questions about the defense. There's not much else to talk about. Sure it could be presented a bit more professionally, but I'm okay with a guy giving us something that is better than nothing. And a lot of times Roger gives his perspectives and whatever insight he has and I appreciate that. He's like one of us that happens to have taken the responsibility of making posts about the Devils. He's not a reporter, scout, analyst, and doesn't have to be.

Appreciate the response and your reasoning as well. All things considered, your point of view is likely the "better take" given the circumstance of what this blogs intention is. I just stand by wanting what I consider to be easily accomplished in terms of writing quality, but regardless I am definitely happy to have this forum to read through.

The comments are here are usually well educated on Devils current events and the happenings around the team. All that really needs to happen is a new comment thread to be opened every view days to let the people talk amongst themselves anyways. Thanks again for the response.

Would love to see a nice reintroduction to the Jack Hughes breakout tonight!

Sweet. Thanks.

I'm guessing this is his first AHL action and the beginning of his pro career.
I saw nothing really happened in his few games in the Slovak League so hopefully he can get back to having fun and being productive.

In interviews looks like most of the players actually had covid, which is horrible. I wouldn't expect much out of the team tonight with the lack of conditioning.
