I still expect the playoffs. They don't have to finish better than all the teams just one or two. If they beat Winnipeg these next two games they are close. If they lose they their chances are slim.

I still see the Canucks in at least the fourth playoff spot but to do that they will need to take advantage of tired teams. Specifically Cal and Edm.

Any team that hits a 5-6 game losing streak is going to slip in the standings. The thing with playing all in-division games is you're giving ground to someone all the time.

If Winnipeg lose their next 6 (Van Van Montreal Montreal Van Van), the Canucks will have opened a 6 point lead on them. Not that I'm expecting that to happen, but if one team goes cold (cough cough Calgary), it's going to show in the standings real quick.

Once we get to the 'meat' of the schedule after 25 games or so those 3-4 point swings are gonna be massive. One 5-6 game skid with no points in regulation teams will be toast. Hopefully the Nucks are flirting with that 4th spot in the division by then or right there. WPG and MTL are dropping back down to reality a bit but Van and Calgary still remain an anomoly lol. Seen a headline by the Athletic about buy out Jake.

At first you think what a croc of sh1t but if you think of it more you say okay I can see that.

Option one is for sure move ,trade , expose him at the draft , do anything he is basically a write off.

If you are still stuck with him next season and no one wants his salary it only costs you 50 K next year to buy him out seeing he was under 25 when signing the contract. You save 2.5 mil next year. It does have a half a mil cap hit the following year .
