oh my
do a lot of goalies switch it up with their equipment like that? I thought most were semi-superstitious and would rather not change anything at all |

Who knows? Goalies are the weirdest compared to the other position players. |

always put the right pad on before the left, right before the opening faceoff back up and tap your back on the crossbar. |

Hitting both posts with your stick to confirm your positioning is also recommended.

Roy used to "thank" his posts before each game, but that's surely very common amongst goalies... anyways having these rituals is fine, as long as you don't completely lose your poop if something messes up your routine lol

I would do something like this before each game instead, just to stand out

well it's a good thing if you actually lose it, that means it doesn't uncomfortably stay in your pants... although you gotta wonder where that poop goes |

I'm superstitious about cleaning up a mess but I can't see that being a problem |

Actually I think he's tried some different things in the previous two seasons. He even tried to wear all black and orange pads to go with the current Flyers alternate unis, but I believe he only did it maybe once or twice because he admitted it was harder to see the puck.
But don't all goalies routinely change out their padding, blocker, and gloves as the wear out even if it's the same design? I thought I heard that the go through maybe 2, sometimes 3 sets in a typical season. And they have to be broken-in, like a lot of other gear. |
