Why? If Hall is open to signing a 3 to 4 year deal at $7M per, why would the Sabres not do that?

Or both!

Hall. Cozens. Skinner.

If heā€™s a 8 mil player Iā€™m lost and give up.

Cool. So youā€™ll let it go then?
That would be great.

Turned the game off after the 1st.

Troubling to know that the only player on this team with a pair of nuts is the 19 year old rookie.

Hopefully the rumours are true and Pegula sells the team.

Itā€™s honestly impressive how this team can manage to suck after securing Eichel, Dahlin, Cozens, and Reinhart.

Such ineptitude to build around a core of high draft picks. They franked up a wet dream

hall has been bad either with eichel or staal...in fact the only time he looked consistently good was on the second line with cozens pumping energy into those old farts

Don't get me wrong, I love what Cozens did, but this again proves my point. Fighting does nothing to actually help you win games.

I wouldn't sign hall to anything more than 3 or 4 years.

I'm not signing him until he is 37, no way no how.

No idea. The way I heard it was they were looking to sell but no mention of a specific buyer. I was just told that Harborcenter will be next and then the Sabres. I do trust the source as far as I can track it but it's very much hearsay and I'm several layers removed
- jcragcrumple

What you're saying does kind of go with what I said before, he doesn't want to pay anymore GM's and Head Coaches that are not on the payroll anymore.

Do you think any team is giving Hall even $8M on the open market this offseason?

Talk is he wants to settle with a team finally and he likes it in Buffalo.

Regardless of that, it makes total sense right now for Buffalo to see if they can get Hall signed to a deal that is less than what they thought it might take 6 months ago.

This was the guy from last years rumors if I remember right.... he certainly has the cash, letā€™s just hopes he commits to keeping the team in buffalo. The fans will support them, itā€™s a mad hockey town and if you put a REAL product on the ice, watch out!

If that wasnā€™t enough of an income stream, Weston also heads up luxury goods retailers Holt Renfrew of Canada, Selfridges of the UK, Brown Thomas of Ireland, the De Bijenkorf department store chain in the Netherlands and the Ogilvy department store in Montreal. He really went downhill fast as an owner who supposedly gave a sh!t.

From someone who looked over at the French Connection and had tears in his eyes to someone who seemingly can't get away from this franchise fast enough.

I thought they played like their asses were on fire, especially after the fight. They just can't buy a goal as they easily could've scored 5 tonight.

He probably signs another 1year deal,
but with a team thatā€™ll actually play some offense
He shouldā€™ve taken the $6mil the AVs supposedly offered- maybe we trade him there at the deadline?

Yeah, dad is 80, so if it's them, it's got to be the kid (48).

Let's just hope he doesn't try to move them to (frank)ing Hamilton or some sh!t.

The problem with this is that if youā€™re gonna blame them for the Sabres,
then youā€™ve gotta give them props for the Bills

It scares me to think about what may happen if this franchise is sold again.

Where they will call home is what scares me.

I honestly don't have any more solutions in mind of how you fix what ails this franchise.
That's scary too.

He looks slow? I don't think he does. He nearly leads the league in puck retrievals on dump ins.

He's not even remotely playing like an old man to me. Staal and Okposo play like old men.

Thatā€™s what I was thinking. Itā€™s gotta be the kid. Just taking over for pops. And yeah, no Hamilton leafs. Keep the Sabres in buffalo. Itā€™s the one market the nhl never has to worry about. If you have a semi competitive team they will sell out regularly. I think I remember reading a few times that one of the higher tv ratings for the playoffs is buffalo. And they havenā€™t been in the dance forever. Buffalo will support hockey. Plenty of other teams to move before the Sabres. At least if Iā€™m looking at it from an nhl perspective.

If he extends, what are the odds that it's either too much, too long, or both? We're really good at both.

But really, this isn't working out for either side right now.
