Pens got a couple cups out of it. Leafs I guess did it properly too?!? Come on man... the ineptitude of this farce lies at the feet of Terry and Kim.

Maybe post about hiring Gilles a few thousand more times? Pegula's feet would smell much better, fewer lies too. 🤔

And he would've gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for Eichel, Hall and those meddling Larry's!

Gillis and Bjusteads. That’s what cures the Sabres. Beats you massaging Terry’s balls with Okposo’s lavender lube.

Pre ESPN, pre twitter. 1984 tank ?

Regardless, mario and jack are 2 completely different stratospheres.

Mario 2nd best player of all time
Jack 2nd best player in his draft

They didnt blatantly make the nhl look bad.

Pens were assigned Crosby with 6.5 odd,'s
Kings didn't tank

This was the most advertised tank of all time.

- Boss34

Penguins drafted top 5 in 5 consecutive years. (Whitney, Fluery, Malkin, Crosby, Staal)

Kings picked top 13 in 7 consecutive years and out of those picks amassed Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty, Brayden Schenn (used to acquire Mike Richards)

So blatant tank for Mario is ok.

Blatant tank for mcdavid / Eichel not ok because why again?

You’ve been listening to too much Ralph. Your logic is flawed...

Top 13 is now the cutoff for tanking?
La never had the feel of "losing on purpose"

Same for the penguins. Remember those year's?
Exactly.

Broads brought up a good point with the lemieux tank.

The mceichel tank arguably made the league look worse than any tank since lemieux. Most people didnt even know what tanking was, until they were introduced to mike weber.

Sure, including the Kings are a stretch but missing the playoffs 7 years in a row is still a pretty dark time don’t you think ?

You don’t get Drew Doughty without picking 2nd overall.

Don’t get Steven Stamkos or Victor Hedman without picking top 2 either.

Avalanche tanked hard for Mackinnon and Makar and look like a real cup threat for the next 10 + years.

Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, Morgan Reilly all top 5, Nylander was a 7th overall pick.

Panthers look real good this year. Want to take a guess where Barkov, Huberdeau, and Ekblad were drafted ?

The Blues are the exception not the rule.

The Sabres tanking was not the issue, the ownership and management we entrusted with building around those pieces were the issue

Which is clearly the fault of the “hockey gods” and not the owner and his inept wife running the thing. They just have bad luck and and and hockey gods are big meanies.

I agree with a good portion of this post.

The Sabres blatantly tanked more than any of these teams. They invited both eichel and McDavid to play games in buffalo. The Sabres used it as an advertising /ticket sales promotion.

The league most definitely didn't appreciate the look.

These were my points.

The whole "dignity" is exactly that. Try not to completely embarrass the nhl. Dignity or not, the whole slang is dumb. It's like jumbo shrimp . Slow racecar. Dignity tank

😀 this is excellent 👍

Schucks, Pegula's are just lucky with the Bill's and completely inept with the Sabres. Makes sense.

Why would they ever try to hire rookie coaches and gms?
Especially after failing with mcbeane?

BOSTON — With Brandon Carlo heading to the hospital in an ambulance, the Boston Bruins got back at the Washington Capitals the best way they could.
Carlo went down late in the first period after Wilson went hands-high to his head in the corner behind the Boston net. Carlo absorbed a cross-check from Vrana on his way to the ice and remained there for several minutes.

The music went silent in the empty arena, and the Bruins bench could be heard cussing out Wilson. When Carlo finally got to his skates, the only noise was his teammates banging their sticks against the boards.

with the bills, both the gm and coach were young though and spent many years in carolina training to be a head coach and gm one day

with the sabres

disco sucks was a retread
phil, even though he was a rookie nhl coach, was not young
ralph is pretty old and was removed from the nhl for an extended period of time

cooper was in his mid 40s when the bolts hired him
deboer was in his early 40's when he started to coach
bednar in his mid 40s
brindamour in his upper 40s
keefe upper 30s

maybe the best way to deal with younger rosters is a younger coach

I'm sure I'll get slaughtered for posting this and trying to have a reasonable conversation but:

The pegula's have been doing this long enough to realize that firing another coach isnt fiscally smart or realistic.

What are they losing fan base wise between now and next season? 10% of an arena in ticket sales?

Is Ralph and the hate costing them any $? Hiring and firing will.

Part the team out, grab the picks. Get rid of okposo and skinner with these picks if needed.

Bring in a new splash gig before they go to full ticket sales capacity.

- minority owner
- former captain as coach
- bring in another guy who hasn't been around the nhl for 8 years. Makes sense.

Sell something to the fan's

Tinordi was the first guy to fight Wilson in the second period

a guy on waivers we could have used

Federic, not known for his fighting skills, went after Wilson in the third period

you are who you are after 2 years in a franchise

if you know after 2 years, he is not your guy, move on

continuity is only good when winning IMO

we are wasting the eichel years with poor choices as gm's and head coaches picked by the owners
