Steve Ott for the coach ..

and I love hall could have 15 -20 goals already just not getting the Bounces I'm very confident he will be here long term

Once we get the new system going everything should get the goals going and wins up

Not sure about Ott. I would rather have Bruce or gallant.

If you hire Ott. He’s learning on the fly. If I’m Eichel. I say peace out buffalo after that hiring.

I just got out of counseling so I'm ready to roll.

I see it's another unacceptable Monday and Ralph is hilariously still present.

Smith and Tyler M LB can be released that's 6mill right there. Dawkins White Poyer can be restructured that's 15mill right there. That's 21mill. Give Diggs a 2 yrs contract extension and turn some of his base into a signing bonus and there's 9mill more. That's 30mill and without even trying hard.

Beane has come this far without really doing any serious harm to future years (assuming the cap goes up like everyone thinks that it will). It's definitely time to go all-in right now, especially with Allen still on his rookie deal.

The Pegulas let him out of their dungeon? Aren't they keeping Ted Black and Russ Brandon down there too?

https://theathletic.com/2...analytics-sabres-mailbag/

John, assuming that Krueger is done soon, or shortly after the season, what type of coach would you want to see the Sabres try next? A seasoned veteran who wins but wears out a welcome (Bruce Boudreau, for example) or a younger coach with energy (thinking of Ted Nolan in 1995 or Lindy Ruff in 1997)? — Ronald M.

A retired Sabres player sent me a text this week. It was only two words.

“Steve Ott”

The player went on to endorse the hiring of Ott, saying this group would benefit from the leadership of his former captain. Ott is in his fourth season as an assistant in St. Louis and helped the Blues win the Stanley Cup in 2019. He’s 38, which is a year old than Ruff when that former captain took over in 1997.

Believe it or not Ott has actually worked his way up the coaching ranks pretty quickly.

Housley wasn’t the right guy because he’s quiet and didn’t have the defensemen to run his system.

Ott is the anti Housley. More of a Ted Nolan type that actually has a system.

Plus you’re damn sure you wouldn’t see Cozens or Dahlin get hit like that without a big response from the team.

I don’t hate it.

- Stripes77

I'm as optimistic about Ott as I am about BBQ, and Housley, and Leaman, and Bylsma, and Krueger.

For once in their (frank)ing lives, make an intelligent hire.

We shall see, it really is up to Beane what he wants to do. Notice he really doesn't make cuts or reworks until he almost knows what kinda cap room he needs. Something to keep a eye on, if he all of a sudden makes 10mill in space Something probably is about to happen.

He may have snuck out. I didn’t inquire about his escape plan. He was always good entertainment around these parts. It was good to see him seemingly well... hopefully not too malnourished from his exile.

Girgensons
Ullmark
McCabe
Risto (covid)
Sam - dinged up
Jack - camp and now.

Every team deals with injuries, but losing 2 if your best players for an extended time.....
