9 out of 10 times it's Dark Side for me, "Meddle" being close but they are all brilliant in their own right. "Final Cut" is under-rated, in my opinion. - Marwood

The only one I don't have on vinyl is Meddle. For some reason I have 3 copies of DSOTM. If I had to pick one it would be Wish. But I love them all for different reasons. - Load Management
Absolutely. Al great albums in their own right but out of those 4...
1 - WYWH
2 - DSOTM
3 - Animals
4 - Meddle
But technically...the Wall eclipses them all...

Even more interesting, the Athletic just released rankings for all Canucks and have Schmidt as their best defensemen. And it wasn’t close
Edit. myers as their worst (which I don’t agree) - CanuckDon
At 5v5, I’d say Schmidt with Edler have been the best pairing. The rest have been up and down.
Replace Myers with Tanev and the top 4 would have 2 pairings with pretty decent chemistry
Hughes - Tanev
Edler - Schmidt

Serious question, has anyone seen this version of Jake Virtanen?
However, as one door shuts, another opens. Virtanen plays with a lot of grit and is still just 24-years-old. He still has time to turn the corner and revamp his career. With the size and physical edge he brings, Virtanen would certainly be a player who teams will be keeping an eye on. |

Myers has been skating and when he moves his feet he is noticeably better. He even back checked hard and broke up a play the other night. I was impressed and think that he is getting much better as the season wears on.
I always like to differentiate defensemen play into 2 areas of the rink and whether or not we have possession
- in our end without the puck - worst is Quinn Hughes
- in our end with the puck - Edler
Defending without the puck - its a toss up who is great but I will give our rookie Ollie an honorable mention
For the record I am not a fancy stat guy....

he is totally dejected and needs a new team (or we need a new coach and GM). He will do well under a new coach that just lets him play a simple power forward game and not get all stressed by defensive play. The new coach will say - just go to the net and score goals, and he will do it the year he leaves us. |

Good post, won’t win you any support from the Athletic and “fancy stats rule” crowd in here.
The defence has been playing better as a group, I like what Joulevi brings, wish Green would play him more minutes, but Green has always had issues with developing young players, oh well, it is what it is, lol. |

Have to disagree. Myers is constantly out of position and taking bad penalties because of it. With the puck on his stick he often panics and dumps it up the middle or side boards. The physicality he brings is the only positive in my opinion, might well be Gudbranson defensively if im honest. He does have some offensive zone stuff, but often gets caught. |

Do you think Green and Benning are telling him to NOT play a power forward game? They're actively tell him drive wide and maybe throw a weak shot at the goalie, or stop up and lose the board battle?
Jake isn't good enough to not play defense. There's like 3 players who are good enough to do that while not playing D, and Edmonton has 2 of them.

I don't know where or why some people think he has grit, maybe they have seen one of his 4 really good hits, since he has been in the league.
He may become a bit better elsewhere, but time to move on. |

He’s not Gudbranson, that’s just offfensive. I think Myers is ideally a #5 guy who can play top 4 for an injury. Gudbranson looks more like a guy you rotate in and out of the lineup like Benn.
I do wonder how much overlap there is between the fans who defended EG here and are defending Myers now as a top 4 dman. |

Have to disagree, Myers is always playing sound defensively and if out of position it is a direct result of a lack of support from the the rest of the exiting forwards, and of course “I can put up points but screw playing defence” Hughes.
Myers is calm and poised, good first pass out guy, constantly thrown under the bus by lazy players not wanting to move the puck. |

I find this funny coming from a guy who has claimed that Galchenyuk is good, Clayton Keller long term signing was a great contract and Chayka is going to be a good GM. Etc etc. 😁 |

I wonder about the fans in here who don’t actually watch the games with an objective attitude, but just pick one mistake to justify their hatred of a player, Myers is better than Schmidt at the moment. |
