Well their goalie is paid 5 times more than his level of play is worth. I'm starting to think I vastly overrated their defense too. Only Petry is remotely impressive, Romanov is coming into his own, but the rest of the top 4 are pylons. - apex123
I don’t think they were that bad defensively tonight. At least 5 on 5. Give the Leafs those PPs and nothing else matters. But for the Habs the issue is that they generate nothing offensively. It’s a chance off the rush or bust. There’s no pressure on the opposing defence. It’s why they cannot draw a PP. |

they're having a hard time going back to the level of play and execution they had at the start of the season, the players obviously won't say so but they really seem to be lacking confidence for some reason - Pat1993
Last few games we had a much harder time scoring goals , and repeating myself again, Price is not doing his job, 3rd pairing defense needs some veteran leadership, put Edmundson on that pairing with Romanov on the right and put Kulak back with Petry. Suzuki need to wake up as well. More importantly stay out of the freaking box |

hence why Ekholm could be a nice addition... but yeah they should be playing better than this. not sure Price would be the reason they lost though, yes he let in 5 goals but for most of them there wasn't much else he could've done

I mean they are good on the rush at least, hence why they've done as well as they have up until now with the extra firepower, but I defintiely agree they generate absolutely nothing on the cycle and I think that part is on Julien. That said though if Price was worth a piece of poop and they weren't taking so many penalties scoring 3 goals is often enough to win a game. |

Ekholm would be nice because I think the mobility in that top 4 is bad. Price, I dont care if they re not all his fault, he's paid nearly as much as Tavares so he should robbing them occasionally. |

A key game against the overpowering Toronto squad and Julien gives the start to Price.
Despite all three Toronto goalies having better seasonal stats than Price, Toronto's fans are aware of their deficiencies. Yet management and some fans tend to believe Price is still an elite goalie. He has been less than average for 3+ years and will statistically fall outside the top-40 goalies after this fiasco. While I understand Price's contract will remain an albatross, I must wonder why Allen is not promoted to 1A status. He is currently a far better goaltender and might give the team a chance to compete against otherwise superior squad.
With all teams now having systems in place it is unlikely the team will be able to score 5 or 6 goals for Price. It will be a shame to see the great start wasted as Edm, Cgy and Wpg are all finding traction in the standings. |

yeah, comes back to what I was saying, no goaltender could be consistent enough to justify that salary 100% of the time. that being said I don't think he was part of the problem tonight, but then again it could be the gin clouding my judgment lololl
