Letang with two goals, trade him while his value is high. |

MM and Marino both 24 minutes. Letang only 21. Kap getting a demotion. Looks like sully is starting to coach. Hopefully he gets zucker away from malkin now.
Maybe JR had too much say of coaching. Or maybe hextall and Burke told sully how things need to be. Def noticed a change in all around play, D structure, Pp, pk, since hextall took over. - 10inchTerror
Or maybe it took a bit for the new assistants to settle in and impose their philosophy. Again, this off-season was super weird. Not a ton of time to hash things out ahead of time during an off-season where there was a significant amount of change in the locker room. |

Was thinking the exact same thing. I honestly don't believe Kap would be getting a demotion already if JR was still GM. |

With two apples you think Sid will squeeze out a star of the game from Matheson if the results hold? I’m assuming Letang and Jarry are givens. - Victoro311
Not only, he poached the 1st star! Congrats, Sidney! |

Ceci was quietly solid again. The Pettersson/Ceci pairing is very good.
MM was good aside from the dingbat moment and the MM/JM pairing is very good.
I don't like POJ with Letang. I don't think their styles mesh well. As much as I like the Pettersson/Ceci pairing, I'd like to see Pettersson swap with POJ. |

I’m pretty sure the 2nd half of the 3rd Letang and Petts were together. Unless I just happen to keep noticing them as a line change was happening. |

How are we behind the Caps right now with one more win? I thought ROW only came into play when both teams were tied for wins? |

Jarry's last four starts: .903, .929, .969, .943
That's a good direction. |

Crosby dumped that’s puck in because he knew Tanev would get there. Guentzel cleans up the garbage, over to Sid, up to his buddy. Game Winner. |

Glad somebody else noticed this. I was going to post it as well. That's why I wanted Tanev to get some shifts with Sid last year. Dude will compete for pucks. |

Hopefully Malkin will take notice. Rust and Zucker are good enough and fast enough to fulfill this role. |

Watching the replays of the goals, Errey was spot on with Letang's first goal. That puck had to move a foot to his left. It appeared to start at Varlomov's head and he reacted like that was the case. |

I think Tanev has the potential to be a poor mans Kunitz, crash, bang, hustle, whereas Guentzel would me a very rich mans Dupuis, not quite as fast, but way more finish |

We were severely outplayed tonight and lucky to win. Shots were 35-18. I know people are giddy over the win, but if the Isles had more competent goal scorers and Jarry didn't stand on his head, we likely lose to this bubble team. How's that for a Debbie Downer? |

Oh I agree, this was a bad game. They straight up sucked. But they were still doing things they should be that they weren’t earlier in the year. Sometimes you win when you should lose and sometimes you lose when you should win. Take the lucky W and hope the process continues to improve, as do the results. |

Just damn glad it was Tanev and not Conner Sheary doing that board work. Tanev wins the first battle. Guentz wins the second and gives it to a wide open Sid for the dish to a wide open Letang. Beautiful. |
