While Henrique would make a great 3c it’s probably not the best use of cap unless we are talking 50% retention. - Feds91Stammer
I think 25% would be acceptable if McCann goes the other way. A little over $1M to have Henrique would be fine IMO. I know his contract is a little too long, but I still would take 25%. If they could get 50% without having to sell off all their assets then obviously you do it.

Yeah. I'd definitely put a flyer out on Ryan. His scoring dried up after the first few games, but how's look away from the puck so far? - Rinosaur
He does fine but he’s certainly never been an all around player. You’re getting him for that rare combo of size and skill. And 9 points in 18 games is damn impressive for the 2nd worst scoring team in the league.
Peep andyrono.com if you’re on a computer for some current season viz charts. |

Idk 4.35m I feel could be spent more wisely than on Henrique. |

I mean if we were capable of just jamming that size of contract into our cap, it would have been infinitely better to do it with Tyler Johnson. - Victoro311

For a team hoping to pick 1st overall Anaheim is against the cap and has 51 pro contracts in the organization. I see them only retaining for good draft picks. No players in return. |

I've looked and there really aren't a lot of potential 3C options out there. At least ones that make sense to me. $4Mish for a high-end 3C seems about par for the course. Obviously you always want to find the best deal possible, so if the Pens can get 50% retention that would be great. I'm just not sure what the Pens would have to put in that deal to make it happen. They'd probably want Poulin or Legare and their 2nd as a start.

Yeah I just don’t think you need a high end 3c. You just need competent players with some scoring ability. You already have an essentially elite checking line so the 3rd line just has to not lose you games. |

I don't think the Pens NEED a high-end 3C, but if it's possible I'd pull the trigger. That said, I do agree with you, which is why I like the idea of Lowry that someone brought up earlier, but I doubt he'll be available or even that Cullen-type which is why i was asking about Filppula. |

Lowry might be available because of the log jam and need for a defenseman. Once Pierre-Luc Dubois returns tomorrow Lowry will be pushed down the lineup. |

Not that I would give merit to anything from Ek, and we obviously don’t need another LD, but damn I’d love Ekholm. That would def be petts going back the other way. |

I'd do it. I'm hesitant to move Riikola only because I believe one of Dumo, Petts or Matheson will no longer be a Penguin by next season and he's an ideal #7.

But... why? This sounds like it would be a very JR move to make.

If we could get Henrique down to 4 Million cap I'd do it. Anaheim would want an asset to retain and I wouldn't want to give up much
Ideally
Henrique@4 Million for nothing
Trade Dumo for Picks, Keep McCann
Pick up Virtanen for almost nothing
Zucker Sid Kap
Jake Malkin Rust
McCann Henrique Virtanen
ZAR Blueger Tanev
Letang Pettersson
Marino Matheson
Ceci POJ
That 3rd line would be Boom or Bust, but line mixing would be an option. Virtanen might work with Sid or Geno |

I just really like ekholm. That’s prob a Burke move, if there was merit to ek’s rumour. Ekholm is a beast to play against, good skater, really good contract. Him and parayko were always 2 of my fav D |

But now you're talking about moving having to move two dmen out unless that's part of the plan.
