Demoted to 4th line. Already in Sully's doghouse. - madmike71
He's been pretty poop IMO. Looks like he's not sure where he should be |

The change of scenery high has definitely worn off and he’s looked a lot more like the Kapanen I was expecting lately. |

Lol Geno was literally a Hart candidate last year. If Geno is playing “well” he’s a bargain at $9.5. You understand that cap hits on new contracts are bonkers now that the cap has raised, right? - Victoro311
Last year was a lifetime ago at this point. And by playing well I mean average Geno, not Machino. Even at today's prices (which have come down a lot with Covid and will likely last a couple of years), $9.5M is a lot. About double for a 3C which is what Malkin is at this point. |

I think our disagreement is that you think what we’ve seen from Malkin thus far this season is his new normal. I do not.
Pretty good for Geno is PPG, which is definitely worth 9.5. |

Malkin will be 35 in a few months. I'll bet this is the new normal vs. seeing a PPG player again. If you had to put money on it, what would you bet? And no, his wingers are fine.
Also, his knee and elbow injuries could be factors, in addition to new injuries. |

Given that he was playing at MVP level last year? I don’t think he’s all of a sudden plummeted from MVP to third line player in one year. I think the off-season was weird and got in the way of a 35 year old from getting into game shape. If I were to put money on it I think Malkin still has a couple more seasons of putting up a 70+ point pace, maybe not PPG.
And no, Zucker has not been fine. Zucker has been playing poopty all on his own just like Malkin. |

With two apples you think Sid will squeeze out a star of the game from Matheson if the results hold? I’m assuming Letang and Jarry are givens. |
