Nowadays your toughness has to come from your better top six players, not fighting toughness, but pushback toughness. You can’t take liberties with guys like MacKinnon and Crosby, they’ll punch you right back and or drop the gloves in rare circumstances.
Boston doesn’t have a “tough guy”, but they have pack mentality, St. Louis doesn’t have a “tough guy”, but they have pack mentality, Colorado doesn’t have a “tough guy”, but they have pack mentality....the Canucks need more dogs and less cats. - Pacificgem

Benning is Mittens and Green is whiskers - CanuckDon
I just watched the replay, thought Hog was out with Horvat and Pearson, but, Sutter, Roussel and Virtanen were on the ice, why were there four forwards out there? Not one of them dropped their gloves. |

Down by two, trying to get back in the game. Green needed to have his best offensive weapons on the ice. |

The stats people won't like this but,.
The idgaf for Hughes was 1.87, Schmidt was at 1.866, , Benn at 1.0, Juolevi .99, Edler at 0.55 and Myers at 0..21.
I would say some work has to be done by the defense, as those are not good numbers when above 1.32. |

Not really good numbers ; the IDAGAF's for Canucks defensemen,
Hughes 1.8
Schmidt 1.63
Juolevo 0.9
Benn-0.899
Edler 0.67
Myers 0.521
Looks to me like Myers and Edler are doing just fine
