Only way Julien would get fired in season is if they’re out of the playoff race by the end of March or something.

Yup, you're absolutely right no matter how wrong it might be. I've never seen a team more dysfunctional on the power play or at sustaining pressure. And the best part is they have a good team on paper. Him, Muller, the (frank)ing goalie coach, (frank)ing all of them behind the bench.

I wouldn't mind a change, but it begs the question, who would be the best available candidate to replace him?

Someone that is fully bilingual which really limits the talent pool

I'm not the "fire the coach" kind of fan usually, but for Julien, I was against his hiring from day one. So, the sooner they get rid of him, the better in my opinion.

Here is my issue with the team right now. CJ and MB claimed the Habs could play any style of hockey with the depth and players they now have.

But all I see is the same style of play.

They just keep looking for the easy pass, and when teams are looking for that, they are eating the Habs alive. So instead of changing up their style to counter that with harder hockey, hard dump-ins and strong forechecking, they just keep playing the same soft passing game and giving up the puck.

Other teams are just laughing right now... clog up the middle and the Habs are easy picking, especially when they get desperate and make more mistakes by pinching.

That is a coaching issue.

That has to end if they're serious about doing whatever it takes to win.

Allen save our asses tonight if it was Price we would have lost. Does this team look like the one that lost 8 times on 2 occasions last season?

It does have to end but we know this is Mtl, anywhere outside of Mtl it would not be a problem

agreed. perhaps they could use "special covid circumstances" as an excuse at first, and once the coach has a bit of success despite not speaking french then these ultra-conservative fans and/or media will stop talking about it

Dont mind if Muller steps in and be the coach maybe fans will give him a break since he has been with the team for so long and won a cup with us in 93

Would it warm the cockles of your coeur that the Flyers are also now losing bigly to the Bruins right now? Hart is stinking this one up and I'm surprised they haven't made a goalie change.

hmm, not sure why but I don't necessarily see Muller as head-coach material... anyways if they are sticking to the damn french-speaking criteria as usual then maybe a guy like Benoit Groulx could be an interesting option

It really does need to stop. It is too bad Alain Vigneault is not available. They could have completed the trifecta of recycled coaches from a decade ago.

In all seriousness it will not end. Some in the MTL media were losing their minds when Martin was fired and the interm could only speak english. I believe there was an actual protest outside the Bell Center on day. Molson had to release a statement promising that the next head coach would speak french.

We saw that against the Flyers. AV did the same thing and cut off Montreal in the neutral zone after the 5-0 game. Habs never had an answer after that. They were baffled.
