Habs are rapidly falling back into what we have become accustomed to, sadly. The coaching staff needs to get it together, or look for work elsewhere. Bergevin has provided the talent, but Julien looks clueless now that clubs have made adjustments. Speaking of Bergevin, why is he keeping Mete? All Mete does is skate well, but he gets beat way too often, and creates zero offence.....get Kulak back in there and trade Mete for a ham sandwich.
spoken by someone with zero facts or analysis...Mete is not the reason they are losing...check his analytics and then come back and make your argument (which you won't be able to).

I watched Mete last night. Don't need analytics to tell me the kid can't defend |

I am surprised by the comments. My impression of the Canadiens is pretty much upside down from what appears to be the consensus on this page. I believe the Canadiens have superior coaching and have squeezed some better than expected early results out of a really thin roster.
Love Suzuki, perhaps Romanov, but there is not much talent on this team other than for Price, Weber and some some other old guys on the back end of their careers.
My thought was that by the end of the season the Sens will not have much trouble in keeping up to this Canadiens roster. |

pretty much
When Karine wrote blogs about the only competition the Habs would have was the Leafs, I said that I expected the division to be way better than some expected. And mtl was never gonna score 5 goals a game all year long. They have to win 2-1 and 3-2 and it looks like they can't right now.
If they could start cutting the dumb penalties, it would help.
And it's not just Price. We saw that with Allen playing great. It's the team.
I think everybody forgot mtl was a disaster last season before the bubble. Yes, Bergevin made a lot of changes and you could argue it was a different team in the bubble, but most of the players that were here before the bubble are still here.
But with the changes Bergevin made before the season, I think he at least expect his team to make the playoffs this year.
If Julien can't coach that team, I think he's gone. - deadpoulet
I stand by what I said, I believe this team has what it takes to finish second in the division. I think the coach just cannot make the adjustments needed though and that's a problem, a big problem. In such a short season and with all the new players he was given, I expect Julien to be on a short leash this season...

Danault & Drouin have 1 goal between the two and they're both in the top 5 in ice time for F... time to combine what's working and ride the top 2 lines a little more

I think they look good on paper, but like you said, they have to get it done on the ice.
Suzuki and KK are really young and Danault did not help them as much as he should, other than the faceoffs aspect (mainly anyway).
As for the defense, maybe it's not as fast as it should. They are big, but that's not all. If they want to win games 2-1 and 3-2, the defense has to be better. I think they have the depth up front to get it done. Maybe the lack of experience down the middle could hurt them this season.
Agree on Julien. |

Maybe they could call back Fleury? How does he look in Laval?
I think it's over with Mete at this point. |

I think Habs fans got excited by the hot start and all the changes, but I don't think they are garbage either. People have to go with the extremes all the time. I don't think mtl is a contender yet, but I think they should aim at the playoffs. |

Habs have been held to 2 goals or less in 7 of the last 10, including 2 shutouts, they cant score and part of the reason is there's 2 guys in the top 6 who never score, no matter where they are from, that's an issue |

Well, I think Bergevin made it clear that he thought he had given everything he could to Julien to succeed so yeah, if he doesn’t, he’ll prob have to go... That being said, if he is fired, I really hope they widen the search parameters. I want the best coach available not just the best French speaking one... - Karine Hains
I get the French speaking thing is important for some people. On the other hand, for the people it bothers so much, I'm still waiting to know which Anglo super coach the Habs passed by while hiring a coach that can speak French.
The problem is not the French coach, it's always reusing the same guys over and over again. New blood, please. |

Bouchard? I don't think he would be the best option, but like you said, not that many options out there.
Gallant would be my pick (I think so), but if he can't speak french, they won't go there.
I really liked Roy growing up, but I don't think it's a good idea, and I don't see Bergevin going there either. |

Drouin, Danault and Armia is a good line on paper. If they would click, they would get their ice time.
Julien has to mix things up a little. Maybe change the d pairings as well and not just the third pair at this point. |

Psychopath is a bit strong lol... he did win a Jack Adams coaching Colorado but left because he couldn’t be involved in the GMs decisions, he wants more than just coach so yeah, Bergevin won’t go there that’s for sure |

Il a 20 ans...Techniquement, il aurait débarqué de Finlande cette saison originalement selon "le plan". Est-ce qu'on peut lui donner le temps de se développer? Chose certaine, ça n'arrivera pas sous ce coach. |

Drouin is not defensively strong enough to play with Danault against the other teams scoring line unfortunately... |
