How is that a homer statement? I’m not advocating we keep Green. Gallant has been tossed in the trash by multiple teams and is having trouble getting a job. Is that bad luck? Does he deserve better? Perhaps he hasn’t been popular with his players and employers - CanuckDon
Lots of coaches coach multiple teams in their careers but are still good coaches. It 100% depends on circumstances. Gallant is a no BS kind of coach, which this team needs.
Look at the circumstances he went into, first in Columbus he went into an expansion team three and a half years into their existence, not exactly an easy scenario. Then look at Florida, he took over a team in 2014 that finished second last in the league with the second worst goal differential in the league at -72.
At the end of his first year he cleaned up that goal differential to -17 and the team jumped ten spots in the standings. The emergence of Huberdeau and Barkov helped but Huberdeau was a young minus player before Gallant got there, he was +10 his first year under Gallant and +17 his second year. The team finished 7th overall at the end of Gallant's second year. 29th to 7th overall in three years.
Then the new owner (or president?) came in (frank)ed everything up in Florida and went totally to analytics, Gallant got fired along with a bunch of other people and we know how that turned out for them. |

Elliotte reporting Coyotes could be interested in Tanner Pearson if he becomes available.

Could do better than Edler too. He doesn't have the speed anymore . Very smart Dman but he would be a last resort for me. - VANTEL
100% correct. Time to move on love what Eddie has accomplished here but we need to let go. Just like with Tanev. |

Good points but do you not wonder why Vegas turned on him so quick? That’s a well run organization |

Probably because a skilled team like Vegas were 24-25 when they fired him and the next guy stepped in and went 26-12 |

It does make me wonder but Kelly McCrimmon came in as new GM and maybe they didn't get along well or he just wanted his own guy in there, not sure? |

They were 24-19-6 when he was fired, 0.551 winning percentage. McCrimmon said he felt like they should be better. |
