Wasn't he the guy you said you would sign JV over him?
You said he was slow. - VANTEL
Markstrom, Tanev I was okay with. TT was a nice fit IMO.

No no no no no. Sorry pal you said he was too slow and would not sign him for four years . You said you would sign Jake.
Don't make me get Booner to look up your past posts about it
Edit: You need to change your avatar I thought you were Lefty. Yeah you were onboard with signing him here. Sorry my mistrake. |

Yes, I was wrong, but I'm still glad we didn't sign another bad contract to go with the other half dozen. Eight of his 11 goals have come against Vancouver, which means out of his 17 games he's scored 3 goals in 11 games against the other teams. They can have him!!
I'm also glad we didn't re-sign Markstrom, who I didn't want to re-sign, it's exposed what a poopty team Jim Benning has really put together in his seven years. |

Montreal are starting to come under a bit of fire . Freidman touched on it a bit on his 31 thoughts |

True... But after 10 years, you need time to study and evaluate that decade of work. That should take 2 years so that makes 12 years for JB.
But 12 is close enough to 15 so let's just round that up. But then again, 15 years is not old. A 15 year old isn't even an adult so let's wait until 18 years. But 18 year olds aren't adults in all 50 states so we should let JB have 21 seasons.
So, bottom line... Let's revisit JB's tenure in 2035. Go Canucks go! |

Apparently there's an out-clause in Benning's contract, just not sure whether it's this year, next year or the year after....but it's there. Hopefully the Aquilini family uses it. |

Burke/Nonis set the table for Gillis. The question is has the table been set yet?

The table was set for both Burke and Nonis, neither of them got past the second round. Mike Gillis was superior to both, obviously |

If he is mean they should hire him. Or Keenan - CanuckDon
Bruce Boudreau seems like a guy i might consider, coached some pretty bad teams and never dropped below .500
Comes with a no nonsense reputation. Gallant seems more like a player’s coach. Boudreau is not the best in terms of playoffs though, only really had one good run in quite a few appearances. |

You read my mind. I don’t understand the lack of playoff success though but the same went for Trotz until he won it all. |

My new Avy is the legendary Joe Sakic during his last year with the Quebec Nordique. One of the greatest of all-time clutch players!! Top five on my list of NHL legends.

Was lucky enough to be at GM Place when he scored his 500th. Had no idea he was heading for the milestone, bought the tickets so I could see Roy play before he retired. It was a really cool moment to witness firsthand. |

Same could be said for Q, coached a lot before having success in Chicago. |

I hope Aquilini reads and really ponders this statement:
the club’s luxuriously expensive bottom-six forward group was outscored 9-0 at even strength; a grim testament of how much the club’s current problems are of their own design
It’s so bloody eloquent. |
