What is Minny adding? Dumba doesn't get you Boeser anymore. Plus we should trade Miller over Boeser right now. |

Marc Bergevin informed Claude Julien this morning of the coaching change.
My sense is the Habs GM still saw effort on the ice but also saw a confused team. Wanted to intervene before the downward spiral got out of control. Again, speaks to the expectations set for this season.
What a refreshing take
But I guess the spiraling starts with Aqua and then just goes down from there.... and while I'm sure he would like the money from tickets, the silver lining is there's no people in there chanting "Fire Fransesco" and "Fire Benning" |

Julien seems to have about a three year shelf life, but he gets a lot out of his teams while he’s fresh...
If Canucks never hire a coach who’s previously been fired they’ll be stuck with Green forever. Which to be honest, I don’t really mind Green, I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t see him as THE problem. |

It's a trifecta, Aquilini, Benning & Green. |

While I agree, and recognize that Green pushed for (either) a) specific players or b) specific styles of player - so he has the team he wanted, I believe he could actually do well with a better group of players.
So for me, it’s Benning who has to go, and Aqua just needs to get out of his own way and hire competent people who know this business better than he does, and let them do their thing. |

I think Green is a small part of the problem, but the lowest part. Benning gets the most blame right now, and I think Green would get more with better assistant coaches (Brown and Baumer blow)... but he also chose those guys so maybe that says something about him too? Aqua is bad but can't really force his hand to fire himself... |

Neither is going anywhere. Boeser is playing like he did in his rookie year again and Miller is one of JBs biggest trade successes.
Add whatever you need to Pearson to bring the value up to a 2nd rounder and ship him off. |

Wow Julien goes before Green... - LordHumungous
Just woke up and read that
Who would have thought they would go before our coaches? Green and Benning have outlasted the Habs and TSN 1040 |

Agree, it starts with Benning. A meddling owner and an arrogant AHL coach doesn't help. Three more years of being 3 years away. |

Pretty big move by the habs, didn’t see that coming. And burrows moving to assistant coach! - canucksfan1944
Always thought Burrows would be a good coach.

What's wrong with Creed? Their poignant lyrics and soothing melodies have given me strength to get through some tough times. If I were the DJ for the Canucks that's all we'd be listening to right now. |

Canucks special teams have looked great lately and during the game all Baumer does is open the door. Honestly, if there is a coaching issue it starts at the top with Green - his vision and how he communicates it to the assistants. My thought is you can’t coach stupid out of players, or overcome significant skill shortfalls. You can’t have a system based on speed if your players aren’t fast etc. |
