how long do you think the Dmen drafted in 2019 draft take to make the team? - RealityChecker
3-5 years, if they ever make it. But a top 10 Dman this year could be ready in their D+2 if we draft the right one. |

I believe Byram was 2019? He’s playing for the Avs now. Oh, did you mean Canuck draft picks in 2019? Didn’t they only draft F’s? |

There are a couple that look NHL ready now if we get lucky at the draft. |

We used to have a blue plastic jug that the bag fit in perfectly and a tool in the drawer that held a razor blade to cut the corner. Heaven forbid you left a weird tear or lip on the bag, milk would go everywhere! - 1970vintage
Here you can get bags or jugs, we usually get bags. |

Vegas Golden Knights under Gallant in 2020 were 24-19-6 or 24 wins 25 losses.
Since his departure they are 26 -9- 3 or 26 wins 12 losses. - VANTEL
Yes Gallant sucks and is only popular in Vancouver for some puzzling reason |

Hughes drafted 2018 played 2018 for Canucks. They also drafted Woo in the second and Utunen in the fifth.

He said the teams top players have been playing better lately but sub-par goaltending and lack of talent beyond the top few players is hurting the club. Also, that it would take a miracle for them to be a playoff team as they'd have to win eight of their next ten games just to get back in it. Apparently he's a fan of Travis Green as well???
Title: "Forget results, the Canucks have too much at stake to keep wasting time"
"Hopefully for the long-suffering fans in Vancouver, the Canucks don’t run out of time and lose a competent, hardworking coach whose ability to maximize what he’s given has served to obscure just how thin — and downright dreadful, frankly — this Canucks roster actually is.
It tells you everything you need to know about this club’s problems, for example, that when Sutter opened the scoring on Sunday — the direct result of a fortunate bounce off a stanchion – it was the first goal the Canucks received from a bottom-six forward at even strength since Feb. 2.
Over 20 days and eight games, as The Lotto Line got going and the club found their five-on-five game, the club’s luxuriously expensive bottom-six forward group was outscored 9-0 at even strength; a grim testament of how much the club’s current problems are of their own design." - Pacificgem
Drance is an idiot and a jackass. One of the most punchable faces I’ve ever seen and he needs to be banned from appearing on tv again. |

kids are chosen high because they can step in sooner, rather than later, and be a difference maker. Woo is apparently looking good. We should draft Luke Hughes and then use them to entice Jack to sign a 4 year deal with NJD to become UFA faster and join his brothers. |

Interesting, so advocating that Green be looked up into a contract because he is sooo good at drawing up and having the players execute his systems.
I especially like how he has the entire team collapse in the d-zone, that right there should be good for a couple extra years on a contract. And then his phenomenal deployment and development of young players, at least another couple of years.
Wonder if he could get another year or two by instructing the players to break out as individuals, sure they might turn it over 9 out of 10 times, but the one time, maybe, just maybe a puck will trickle to the net. Also all shots need to come from the outside or perimeter, or shoot right at the logo on the goalie, never know might get a lucky bounce.
That is Jack Adam’s coaching pedigree stuff. |

They drafted two Dmen this draft that could have potential in 3-4 years.
I am curious what posters in here would choose for next years top 7 Dmen ? I bet 80 % of the lists submitted would have Benn and Edler on it.
I would pick Schenn off waivers |

Could do better than Edler too. He doesn't have the speed anymore . Very smart Dman but he would be a last resort for me.

Statistically he's still the most well rounded defenseman on the team. If you want to get rid of him you might as well get rid of Myers and Benn as well because they are not as good as him. |

how long do you think the Dmen drafted in 2019 draft take to make the team? - RealityChecker
That's a pretty open-ended question. Do you mean the Canucks dmen from 2019 or just in general? Assuming just in general as the Canucks didn't take any defencemen in 2019.
It depends on what round and how high or low in that round they were taken. But as a general rule of thumb, three to four years for a defenceman unless they were taken top 15 in the first round.
As for Benning not being proactive, in the article, I believe he was referring to him not being able to accumulate draft picks at the trade deadline for the long term future of the club. |

Defensively Edler still plays the most important minutes on the team's defence, there's more to the game than simply scoring. Those minutes on the PK and against the other teams best players are not easy to replace.
Until they can find someone to replace him you have to re-sign him IMO. This is squarely on Benning, Edler's minutes should be able to be taken by someone else by now after seven years of drafting, unfortunately that's not happened. |

I think JB is banking hard on Juolevi becoming that guy. Edler probably goes to 1 year contracts from here on until either OJ grows into that role, or they make a trade/signing to replace Edler. |

Thomas Drance is the typical analytical dweeb, cherry picking some stats to suit his point.
Did he mention anything about when the bottom 6 was scoring regularly and the top 6 was playing like crap, or how long it took the top6 to actually start playing at just above mediocre level like they are now, or does he claim because Brock has been good all season, everyone gets to ride on his coattails, from that group.
Does he mention how brutally awful Hughes has been, or does he Blame Myers for everything wrong on defense.
Drance is a fuc king moron, but he is right about Benning, not much else. |
