Always good to take this old Caps team to OT. I think they fade by the end of the season. |

They will.
Hard to enjoy this game very much after losing one of our better players.
The Pens have 16 games yet to play with Buff and NJ. |

Blue has to be the center on PP 2. They don't get a ton of time but he's got hands and is great on faceoffs. Plus, he's more than earned it. - Thorny87
Agree. Name him full-time 3C and C on PP2 and make lines around that. |

I was just thinking that it's good to have the crap teams near or after the trade deadline when they sell off their good players. |

I honestly think that despite those two goals, this was the Pens most complete performance. Dominated 5v5, solid play by Jarry and both the PK and PP came up big. |

He couldn't, Panik was coming too fast and got body position before MM could pivot. MM played it fine, that one is on Jarry. - stackthepads
Played that fine? Dude got caught flat flooted at the blue line and had no gap control. |

Both regulation goals on deflections. That should tell you how important they are. |

Oh yeah I thought all in all the Pens played a great game. |

I think Zucker’s season could have been turned around by putting him with Crosby. He’s a good player miscast as our third best winger, but he is our third best winger none the less. This is going to hurt bad. - Victoro311
100% this. I like his game. He's just not a match with Geno. |

He won't come cheap. 9 goals and 7 assists in 18 games. Is he still rockin' the hipster stache? That should bring the price down a little. |

I saw Freidman on the NHL network. He said the Preds are listening on everyone not named Ellis, Josi and Rinne. Of course with the caveat.... It will take a ton to get him.
They're gonna want pieces we don't have. A+ prospects and high picks. |

Nice win. Would have been nice to get regulation 2 pts - outplayed the Caps for most of the game. That Marino-Matheson pairing looked shaky ... uffff. MM completely lost Panik on the first goal. Just let him skate by. Weak sauce.
Also, Sheary is becoming a Penguins killer. Seriously? Sheary?! |

Those 3 "untouchable" names leave me very confused. Rinne I get for nostalgia reasons, but the other two are on the wrong side of 30 and make a lot for a long time. Ellis not so much but Josi? They would be wise to listen to offers for him. Granted, they are a tad thin on D with Eckholm on the shelf, but still, when do they hope to be competitive again? Johansen and Duchene are screwing up their cap and would be difficult to move. |

Yeah, maybe how well Weber is playing at age 35 is the reason they don't make that mistake again. Now I'm arguing against myself. Still, $9M per for the next 7 years after this year? Who knows, maybe I'm completely off-base here. |

They have had a crazy amount of good dmen over the years. Hell they supplied the Habs, Wild and Jackets all #1 dmen while still having their own #1 lol
Edit: Timonen, Zidlicky and Hamhuis were good as hell too. Ekholm and Ellis who are still there. No wonder why Shero loved drafting dmen lol. |

He is being discussed in a trade to Toronto for Nylander, Dermott, and a prospect |
