Ain’t got nothin to do with early season struggles. Got everything to do with the roster and lack of depth. - j.boyd919
I think both can be true.

What.. context do you need? - j.boyd919
Or perhaps just the ability to remember a lot of the circumstances of the time(s).
Look at all the years between 2009 and 2016 they were up there with the heavy favorites to win it all, best on paper and didnt get past 2nd round....or 3rd vs B's |

I would probably have the pens in the 10-12 range. - Feds91Stammer
Ya I had them 8 at best, 11 at worst (at the start of the season.
Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel, Rust, Kapanen, Zucker, McCann, Blueger, Tanev, ZAR is a pretty legit top 10 forward group. The other 2 forwards... tough sledding there |

Also using the circumstances as justification for losing isn’t really a great excuse. This team hasn’t been a contender for a while and needs some pretty significant upgrades if that’s going to change. - Feds91Stammer
They weren't considered contenders at all, not even close, in 2015/2016 until February/March

That’s because a moron of a coach out them in a hole they never should have been in. |

Sully isn’t great but he’s definitely not killing the team either. When did you become such a kool aid drinker? |

hahah I am not. Ive said to you that I dont think they're world beaters when healthy. I said yesterday I thought the Bruins were definitely a better team. That goes for other teams as well.
Still though, I do see a potential with this squad that wasn't quite there the past few seasons.
Anyone saying they're not winning the cup have an extremely great chance of being right, I would never argue that. |

Yeah he had more misfires than not in the trades and moves since 2017, no question. |

Well it seemed you were arguing my point that they just aren’t that good anymore lol |

They're better than you're giving credit for.
I was one of the ones saying they'd prob miss playoffs before season started. I don't feel as strongly that they will now. |

He’s not a playoff coach. He doesn’t make changes or adjust. He doesn’t take advantage of last change to exploit defensive weaknesses. He plays lines 1-4 and hopes they can outplay the other lines 1-4. If they can’t, he just sends them out there repetitively till they lose 4 games.
If this team was healthy I think they have 3 solid lines that can compete if they feel like putting in the effort and their coach sets them up to succeed. |

The weird thing is, Sully used to do all these things and do them well. For sone reason, he just stopped. |

Forsberg - 668710
I just don't see the Pens offering enough compared to other teams for him and to be honest, he's missed around 15/20 games per season the last three years. We already have a lot of that lol. That's not TERRIBLE, but for what he'd likely cost the Pens I'd prefer them to grab someone who's been a little more healthy.

Forsberg - 668710
This is a pipe dream. There are numerous teams that would put packages together for him that the Pens would not be able to match |

But will they? Toronto pulled their deal out apparently. Idk I'd go for him. |

Never hurts to try. Eve et one said that about hall going to Arizona and I feel Pitt could of matched Arizona’s offer. |
