I’m sorry but a Covid outbreak in the dressing room is a real possibility. I think I would make a run at Bobby Ryan at the right price for depth reasons. Ryan is actually scoring and looks to be one of the Wings better players as he gets paid peanuts. |

Folks have mentioned Wisdom’s stunning start to a 18 year old rookie season, but how about the improvement from Joel Farabee’s former college teammate, Mad Max.

I agree. He doesn't move the puck quick enough. He doesn't draw the defenders in. He skates the puck for a few strides and telegraphs where the puck is going. He's also not good at rushing the puck and setting up. - MJL
Yup, you put it well. And it’s constantly the safe play, doing that all the time isn’t going to score you goals. The one thing he does well is gets shot through but other than that we have other guys I’d like to see on there. |

Learning curve. Who played on the top PP unit before Provorov? Kimmo Timonen, Mark Streit, Shayne Gostisbehere, Erik Gustafsson, Chris Pronger. It’s not like he doesn’t produce at all. |

A shortened season doesn't really lend itself to a learning curve. Put him on PP2 until he's sharper. Ghost is gaining confidence. Might as well try him there. |

I’m just hoping he earns a 2-way contract so he can be a depth call up possibility.

Has nothing to do with a learning curve, you either have it on the PP or you don’t. Maybe if he was his in first few years in the league, this guys a veteran at this point. |

I think I am confused about which one is PP1 and which is PP2. Which one is the JVR one?

Wisdom scored again tonight to force OT, but Phantom lose to the baby Penguins 4-5.
He was underrated at the draft but this is such a phenomenal start as an 18 year old pro.

This was from Bill's gameday blog today
PP1: JVR, Couturier, Hayes, Farabee, Provorov.
PP2: Giroux, Patrick, Voracek, Gustafsson, Gostisbehere. |

Maybe just swap Provy and Gustafsson. Gus shot on the PP is really more accurate. Does that mean that unit is lacking enough defense though? Risky maybe

Well this is crap pure crap. Tell you what, email Vigneault and tell him he’s running this wrong. Ghost was on the number one unit for along time. He lost it and he lost it for a reason, starting with not scoring a goal from December 20th 2019, to last Wednesday. |

Patty against tougher match ups. Hard to argue against the stats. Guess he’s as good as coots then. - Peter Richards
Patrick also starts many more shifts in the ozone, tho.
NP isn't bad defensively, but neither is he all that great either. He's still riding his pre-draft reputation rep to an extent. There's a lot of room for improvement. |

Bunnaman CF% is 47.17%. SCF% is 46.74%. xGF% is 41.57%. GA/60 is .9.
Other than the GA/60 number, very average. I would suspect as he plays more, that number would stabilize towards his line mates. He's shown that he can play a 4th line role in the NHL but lets not get carried away about him. - MJL
Thing about Bunny is that he creates next to no offense, but he also allows next to no offense. There's a niche for a guy like that on an NHL roster. Maybe not as regular 4C, but he's definitely a lot better than than NP right now defensively.
If all I cared about was short term W/L, I'd sit NP for Bunny. But the Flyers have a vested long-term interest in getting NP going. |
