Wasn't he someone that people on here wanted? - Retinalz
Would be a little surprised if nobody claims him, still young and has potential. |

He will get claimed. A 23 year old defenseman with several games in the NHL under his belt, Detroit, Ottawa, LA, etc will take a shot at him. |

What's his deal? Seems pretty pedestrian. Especially since he's a LHD |

You never know, they need a culture change there. Regarding Eichel, I'd look at trading for Eichel with a trade centering around Horvat +++ - Pacificgem
I see that you Googled Herman Goering. |

What is it about Eichel that you like? Is it how he makes his linemates/team better? Is it his leadership qualities? Is it his 3 million overpriced contract?
We already have a centre who is at least equivalent to Eichel's talent, need to fill other holes, as a priority. - Reubenkincade
His tremendous skill level, plus he's only just turned 24 a couple months ago. Kids never had less than 24 goals in a season and he's now an 80 point player. This season is a bit of an anomaly, I wouldn't read too much into it.
I'm a build through the middle guy and having him and Pettersson as your 1-2 punch down the middle would be an unbelievable start to something very good. Yes he's overpaid but they can retain a little to even things out.
Horvat - Pettersson down the middle is no match for Eichel - Pettersson and then you start to fill in the pieces around them. Just my fantasy regarding building a winner in Vancouver. Horvat's fine, he's just ok, he's so inconsistent and he's a soft leader. |

Haha yes but that's not why I changed, I didn't find any similarities to the Coyotes shoulder patch of the great state of Arizona and the rising sun which is on their state flag, along with AZ for Arizona of course. |

Well, as much as it disturbs most of us, the Canucks are in a six year losing cycle and it doesn't appear to be getting any better, that said, I'm not wanting Jim Benning to be making any franchise altering deals. - Pacificgem
Do nothing. Sweet (frank) all. Make your picks. The new GM can analyze the roster in the summer |

In all fairness to Horvat, he had a legitimate top 6 offensive player with him for 1 season. His leadership is probably on par with Eichel.
My fantasy is to have MacKinnon and McDavid as our top 2 centres, with Heiskanen, Makar and Chabot leading our defense to the cup.đ |

Yes, and add an experienced GM (if one is willing to work for Aquilini) to make trades to round out the roster. We have a lot of solid pieces and Pod, Woo and Rathbone plus our top 10 pick this year on the way. We can still have a strong team it will just take two years |

From Elliotte
âI think we all kind of got carried away on Saturday with that one. I donât think it was even that close, I have to tell you Pat. I think I first mentioned on Tuesday last week that I heard Virtanen to the Ducks and that they were trying to work it out. But if you look at the situation, Virtanen is a million less than Heinen this year, and while Heinen doesnât have a contract next year, Virtanenâs is $3.4. Thatâs cash not cap. Thatsâs cash. I think the two teams are like dollar for dollar. They want dollar for dollar, and they couldnât get it there.
I was told it was never a one-for-one. They were talking about other players. One of the players that I think Anaheim might have talked about in there was Derek Grant. That was one rumbling I heard. But it wasnât anything that the two sides could agree on.
So, they may try again. Obviously, theyâve tried several times over the past week, but on Saturday I just heard people werenât very optimistic.â
âThat second year is really tough. That 3.4 next year is a real challenge. You know Pat, one of the things that is going on right now is, there just isnât, there arenât a lot of teams willing to take on money. Itâs a real buyers market. There are a lot of sellers. Thereâs a lot of teams that donât think they have a chance or they want to move cash.
How many teams out there do you really think want to take on cash? Not very many. And so, thatâs the thing right now. Virtanen 3.4 next year, thatâs causing a problem.â |

It was a well thought out signing by the management group.

There will only be 6 or 7 teams trying to make the playoffs or a deep run that have cap space. I would expect a very quiet TDL |

Benning signed a backup goalie to a $4.3M AAV deal.
That's not the worst part. His BASE salary next year is $5.7M. You think SEA wants that? Lol
Aqua going to be paying $5.7M to his backup goalie next year jfc what a contract

This guy is a (frank)ing moron. All teams signed this type of contract. #pandemic
Now they targeted the wrong guy, pro scouting again terrible. Clark surely had a large hand in this as well. But idiots that gloss over context are pathetic attention seekers. |
