Zack is unnoticeable on a lot of shifts . I think they want to take a look at Hawyrluk. - VANTEL
Hard to get noticed on this 4th line.
Hawryluk got less than 4 minutes the last time they wanted to have a look at him.
They should also be having a look at that Juolevi kid.
Just seen your edit; could you imagine the assets given up to get rid of Loui, this province would go ballistic. |

Travis Green wouldn’t reveal anything else about his lineup other than the goaltender. Elias Pettersson appeared to leave morning skate early and didn’t participate in power play work |

they just gotta ride everything out until the end of the season.
the sad thing is that green is fighting for his job or at the very least his reputation for the next job. but his lineup choices to his usage has just been scattershot all year. really some wtf decisions. loui? he's so out of game shape, it's laughable so bringing him in once every six games makes no sense. i forget which goal it was but his shift against toronto that led directly to a goal was insane. he got 2 strides (!!!) behind his man from within centre. they were practically even at one point! |

I am fine with riding out the season, but I would like the new GM at least in the seat assessing what he has. |

Like Don said, hopefully its an experienced GM for ONCE. If it's another rookie we can expect the same results imo.

tldr; trust the process
I would like them to ride out the season and clean house at the end of the season. conduct a real search for someone to lead the organization.
If that means they install a president, that's fine, so long as it's done quickly. If there is to be a president, I'd like someone older and more firmly experienced in the league. Someone who can capably take the next step which is more crucial; the hiring of a new GM.
The team (FA or President) needs to interview 3-5 people and ask the pertinent questions: 1) where do you see the league in the next 5 years; 2) what would you do if you were starting a franchise from scratch; 3) what problems do you see with the management structure of the canucks organization; 4) what do you see as problems on the ice; 5) what type of style would you like your team to play; 6) what style do you think the canucks as currently constructed can play; 7) what type of coach would you want; 8) how would you manage the cap next season and for the next 5 seasons; 9) can this team be a contender; and 10) how?
Obviously, these are not all the questions but there should be a real process. Not a review of someone's resume or reputation, although those certainly play a role.
The biggest question is who do you convince; FA or a president who knows this game better than FA? |

Successful organizations tend to have stability within their management ranks, at some point the Canucks ownership has to realize this, that said, you also can't ignore the mismanagement that's gone on in Vancouver outside of the draft floor.
Dean Lombardi was the GM in Los Angeles for 11 years before they felt they needed a change but he won two Cups in that timeframe. IMO part of the problems in Buffalo are their constant turnover of management, which is on Pegula, he's very impatient but willing to spend, similar to Francesco Aquilini. |

You're definitely right. FA needs a strong president who can deflect his whims/meddling. The only problem is that's not the kind of guy who FA would hire (or would want to work here.) |

That's why I maintain Francesco Aquilini is as much of a problem as Jim Benning and why I doubt they'll be able to attract an experienced General Manager / President to lead the team. |
