BREAKING: RW suggests trading a guy we've been talking about trading for weeks. I don't recall anyone being unhappy about this prospect.

I was behind this idea because Petts looked to be improving but now he is looking meh again. If both are considered 2LDs at this point with no offensive game and making the same per year, I trade the guy with more years under contract. Or get a true 1LD and trade them both.

Leafs fan here - what would be a fair trade for Dumoulin - 4.1 not good for leafs

but he certainly would be a solid add to the d-core.

Dumoulin (2.0 retained) + McCann + 2021 5th

Kerfoot + Vesey + 2021 2nd + 2021 6th

Kerfoot & McCann cancel out - so Dumoulin + 5th for Vesey + 2nd & 6th

Quotes not working but I agree with Vic. Whichever one of Dumo or Pettersson gets you the most return is the best approach.

I could see Pettersson for someone like Kempe, Bennett , or Foligno. All three of them have ties to the Pens as well. Maybe put Palmieri or Lowry in the ballpark too.

Dumo is harder and might be more of a hockey trade. I imagine you would get a similarly aged top 6 forward. Tatar?

So true ... i think our biggest concern is we have too many of the same players and on nights when the games get played a certain way we can’t compete. The Icelanders, and the Bruins keep us to the perimeter and we have no answer for that style game. Our PK stinks because we have no one to clear the crease. Leadership will add some grit before the season is over.

I think I'd try to trade Dumo for picks (Didn't Muzzin get a 1st when he was traded?) then use the freed up capspace to take on someone elses unproductive contract that's in it's last year

Would the Habs move Tatar for scraps just to free up cap?

Who else could be a fringe target that doesn't have any term that could be had for a 5th?

Islanders fan here. Is there any update on Crosby at this time. Latest news I saw was that he missed practice today. This five team race is insane. Probably going down to the last week of the season. Going to be fun.

We're not gonna get anything worth a damn with a 5th. We'd be getting the same slop that we've been putting out there. Id love to go big on Forsberg but we don't have the horses. So probably going after Rakell, Tatar, Palmeri etc. Makes more sense for us.
