Hahahahaha. Guentzel is one a top 10 winger in the league. Petterson is a solid 2nd pairing defenseman. So let's get rid of one of the best winger contracts and goal scorers in the league for a guy who's career high has never eclipsed Jake's and an overrated Dman.

Jesus Christ that's bad. It shouldn't be considered at all. Guentzel at this moment should be just about untouchable. He's the most creative player we've got outside of Sid/Geno/Letang and is exactly the type of player the Pens need to go acquire. Getting Forsberg is a below lateral move at wing. Ekholm is a slide upgrade over Petterson.

It's just a terrible idea all around.

That should be exactly what we're looking to do. The supporting cast hasn't been working. We get better for the next 2 years. Save a small amount of cap space. We get longer pants. And have plenty of roster flexibility for Hextall to build his team.

I'm not saying that is the perfect move... but something like that could definitely be considered.

Lowry from WIN
Foligno from MIN

all match what Burke/Hextall are looking for and have ties back to the Pens

NJ might be happy with Pettersson for Palmieri
Not sure either player makes sense for Tatar from Montreal's perspective

Eh, maybe, maybe not. He took an awkward fall into the boards. Other than that, he's been injury-free as far as I know. More and more I realize that some guys are just injury-prone and others are not. Granted, physical play can take Guentzel out of what he likes to do which makes him less effective.

Let's just do Fabbri ($.5M retained) for Petterson You get a top 6 young guy and free up a bit of cap space for the future. Wings get a guy that will be 2nd pairing

Nobody under 6 feet has ever lasted 500 games. Get rid of Guentzel while you still can.

In ideal world you could trade Matheson without adding sweetener and keep the d-core we have. I honestly have no real complaints about Matheson, but that contract is just terrible.

I live in NJ, a very progressive state, yet you can't buy booze in a supermarket. There's a handful of townships that allow it, but most of NJ you can't. However, these supermarkets have liquor stores directly attached to them where you can literally buy it, put it in your cart and go into the supermarket. There so many stupid out-dated arbitrary laws all over the country that make no logical sense.
