Dude is a leafs fan. Is there a more sensitive fan base? Probably not. - j.boyd919
All I read is a bunch of insults and delusional trade scenarios.
Penguins hired Hextall. He’s a good hockey man who helped build a Kings Cup winning club. He also rebuilt the Flyers. The hire of Burke confounds as he’s a win now type of guy. The question is will the Penguin’s fans put up with a rebuild or will they stop showing up. At least they may play with truculence!
Until then. Please amuse everyone with your silly trade scenarios and your undeserved sense of accomplishment.
By the way “strapping on the blades” is an old Canadian term of endearment for the great game of what you probably call ice hockey. Like I said, you wouldn’t understand |

Mark Scheifele full of fun turns of phrase today.
Called analytics "hogwash", saying he doesn't have time for them and in fact doesn't understand them.
He'd much rather watch a game and tell you who played well.
Thought this would amuse everyone here. |

Hockey Operations Brian Burke concluded. “So, we’ve got to see if we can add to this group without forfeiting futures."
Wish I could pin this to refer back to when people keep bringing up trading futures. New regime wants to replenish the system, not drain the last bit. |

Saw Zhorna roof a backhanded in the shootout yesterday. I've become unreasonably interested in seeing him get a shot at 4C based on 2 partial games. Hands and skating just look better than I expected. |

People rarely value things they don’t understand. If you can’t at the very least see analytics as a useful tool to some degree you really don’t have a valid opinion on it. |

Can he skate and make decisions at an NHL pace? Detroit brought in Brome who has been great in the Swedish league and while he can skate at the NHL pace he can’t make plays at that speed and is essentially useless. |

Why would you target bottom 6 players? - Feds91Stammer
We need a whole new 4th line so any upgrade to the bottom 6 is welcome. However, I'm not targeting them per se... I just said I think that's what is most realistic to expect based off context clues. |
|
|
|
I like a couple of those names, but what are the ties to the Pens that you speak of? - Hockey66
Not like credible trade rumor ties....but Kempe and Wagner are in LA, obvious Hextall connection, LA wants LHD, and they are Burke type players.
Bennett was drafted by Burke.
Foligno we have the Geurin connection and a long pants type player. |

See I think your only bottom 6 hole is at 4c
Jake - Geno - Rust
Hole - Sid - Hole
McCann - Blueger - Kap
ZAR - Hole - Tanev
That’s how I see it and Zucker isn’t included because I don’t think he’ll be useful until next season. |

Eh, maybe, maybe not. He took an awkward fall into the boards. Other than that, he's been injury-free as far as I know. More and more I realize that some guys are just injury-prone and others are not. Granted, physical play can take Guentzel out of what he likes to do which makes him less effective. - Hockey66
Fair point. He's a great player and his chemistry with Sid makes it almost a non-starter . And he does seemingly be pretty "tough" in terms of being able to take abuse.
But, man, he has seemingly become a target for other teams. And every time he's in front of the net I am cringing wondering if he's going to get back up. Considering the haul he'd bring back in a trade, it makes me think. |

Whichever team trades away the best player in the trade loses the trade about 99.9% of the time. |
