Darryl Sutter denied accusations that he kicked and mentally abused players as LA Kings coach, when asked about them today.
Dan Carcillo, who made the 2019 claims, tells ESPN that Sutter's hiring by CGY is the epitome of hockey culture's problems. #NHL - VANTEL
Exactly what the Flames need, maybe they’ll wake up. Agree though, short shelf life but that’s Trelivings moto.
Hartley
Guletzen
Peters
Ward
Sutter
I’m more worried that he may get promoted to GM when Treliving gets canned.
He traded 2nd round draft picks for old has beens like they were smarties. Don’t want to see that again. |

Yes! Wonderful news! Arizona is killing it. I love that America is reopening. Excellent job distributing the vaccine and recognizing the mental and financial repercussions of isolating folks. Take notes cowardly Trudeau, Tam and Bonnie! Bravo AZ 🥰 |

Loui Eriksson on taxi squad cost Canucks 6 mil and Hoglander 891 K to play top 6 total 6 891 000
Very hard to explain to Stoners 6 891 000 is equal to 6 891 000
- VANTEL
That's exactly what Vintage was saying. Paying 2 people for the same job.
Thanks for explaining it in further detail. |

With signing bonus 162 K if he played in UTica . Taxi squad players get NHL salaries. |

To be fair, there's probably not going to be a taxi squad next year.
Also, the taxi squad isn't really a job that's helping the team.
Also also, the money they'll be potentially paying people to not be on the team could have/should be used to pay people to be on the team.
Paying LE, Roussel, Beagle, whoever to not be on the team isn't doing a great GMing job. While those young guys are fighting for spots, they team would be better served having them fight for spots supplemented by much better support. |

You would like the Canucks to use that extra cap space to go out and sign more UFA players ? |

lol correct. - LordHumungous
How can you claim anything to be "correct" yet when Sutter hasn't even had a game behind the bench? Lol.
Time will solely dictate what's "correct" or not.
He won 2 Stanley Cups in the CURRENT age.
Let's not act like they resurrected Pat Quinn from the dead or something. Sutter has been hardly removed from the game. |

That’s not true. Players on “one way” contracts get paid their NHL salary, just as they would if they were assigned to the AHL. Players on “two way” contracts are paid their AHL salary. All ELC’s are two way contracts.
I’m not saying I want Lui in the lineup over Hog, only that the owner literally pays more money this way. |

always poopty for those 2way contract guys to get papered down and lose a day of nhl salary. like 10x the money difference |

I would get use to Canucks not going that route anymore. Benning said today they will be replacing expiring contracts with prospects.

I checked the CBA Aquilini does lose about 700K in real money but gains about 250 K in cap space.

That's great and all, but you can't replace all the players with prospects – they're not all going to be good enough. No team has won anything without filling in their gaps with UFA signings. |

This season is having a strange effect on JB’s work. Even the signings you identified above look bad right now. JTM looked like a machine last year, this year he looks like poop. The Schmidt trade over the summer looked amazing and got a lot of guys in here really excited and yet that excitement has evaporated now.
Oh well, there’s always next year. |

ya ive hated watching miller this year but his production is still there and both he and schmidt have reasonable cap hits for their roles they play. certainly better bang for buck than any ufa |
