Ya agree Benning isn't perfect as is no GM...and yes clarity is a good terminology and would help huge. I honestly thought Green would get the extension after the PO run last year but obviously ownership and MNGT must have been off on this. Extend him or move on is the play but do it now or wait until the off season? As we approach TDL Pearson and Sutter should have some value for teams looking to add. Then move on.
We have Hughes and Schmidt now to build around moving forward and if that future doesn't include Edler, Myers or Benn so be it. Hamonic is a good utilty guy to keep around and can play tough hockey. Wpg built around Pionk and Morrisey we can for sure start building the D around Hughes and Schmidt. Hughes being a first pairing guy and Schmidt being the second pairing guy of course. - LordHumungous
This has nothing to do with how I feel about Green but I think it does have something to do with the pandemic. I imagine they have talked , and Benning said we will need to wait and see what money we have. He talked about not knowing if they will have fans back or not and that seems to be leading to the how much can they give him

Rasmus Anderson says hi!
No wait that was yours.
Dube with the hat trick last night! Well at least he played junior in BC

Anderson is junk. Not sure he is the player you should be bragging about? Magnipanic is decent though. |

Schmidt is a bit old to build around. I don't mind that he plays left and right decently. I'd rather upgrade the right side and go with the younger lefties than him. After the e-draft, if someone wants to pony up more than what Benning paid for Schmidt, I would take it. Detroit has only Dekeser signed for next season and will have lots of young defenders. I would get rid of that contract and try and add Savard a natural righty or use what you get from Schmidt in a trade to trade for a RHD. Pulock is my preference. |

Wow dude that's so great. Ya my new cartridge is breaking in nicely too.
I think the KISS Hotter than Hell had the BW cover anyways... - LordHumungous
My cart is from the late 70's, it's so broken in it's not funny. Still going strong though. My stylus still needs a few days of listening. It's just starting to settle.
Pretty lo fi production on Hotter than Hell. I actually like it. Not polished like most of their albums.

I think this tweet pretty much sums up today:
I feel a deep emptiness and loss, much like when I take a bite of a chocolate chip cookie and it turns out to be an oatmeal raisin cookie. |

All is lost. Bad core. No draft picks this year. Lots of long term contracts. We live in a sh!tty City. Spring is around the corner. 💯 why even get out of bed in the am 🤷‍♂️ |

Wow...just got home from golf, what happened? This is what I read on the Athletic.
”It's been a few hours since Jim Benning took questions from media and I still don't understand why he bothered?
There was absolutely no benefit to his availability & if anything just further cemented the fact he's lost.
Don't praise the organization for this, it was a disaster.” |

"Every team in the league has bad contracts," Benning argued. "That’s just the nature of doing business. You’re never going to be perfect. - IMac
Other GM’s make mistakes so it’s OK that I make them too... |

Why does he have to play differently? I’m sure Ian Clarke is a smart enough coach to know that he isn’t going to start from scratch. Dude is like 40 already, he’s pretty set in his style. Minor suggestions, adjustments I’m sure. - 1970vintage
It takes wayy longer for a goalie to adjust to playing differently than a player. It has to be second nature through constant repetition – a player in a new system can consciously think about it for a split second. Goalies don't get that luxury. Look how long it took Marky to come into form under Clarke.
I'm not saying he's going to be better than Demko. I'm just saying he's going to improve as the season goes on and he gets more time. They've been playing what, 2 months now, including training camp? In a regular season that'd be like 18 games instead of the 27 they've played so far. |

Yes we need RHD for sure agreed. And that's why I said Schmidt is a good 2nd pairing guy to start with. Finding the other #1 dman is tough but right now Schmidt can rotate from the first pair to the second as needed. |

He probably isn’t going to get 10 more games this season. I think your expectations are too high. This is Holtby, this was Holtby last season and the season before. Ian Clark isn’t going to change that. |

I’m not whining, I’m sharing information discovered on the internet that the experts here are clearly unaware of.
I didn’t listen to today’s message, I’m not unhappy with how the season is going. It’s pretty much what I expected. |

I'll have to compare the original pressing of Hotter than Hell to the new 180g re-issue. Alot of the re-issues on heavyweight vinyl were cut digitally or from CD remasters and not from the analog tapes of the 70's. Depending on which type of sound you prefer the difference can be massive. Sounds like you lean more towards the tubey sound of the 70's which is a good thing. Alot of these new pressings are way to bright and loud...compressed sounding almost. You really have to research new vinyl before you buy. |

My expectations are that he'll be a competent to good backup goalie, lol. Don't think that's too high. But, I guess we'll see
There's what? 25 games left? Can see him getting 7-8 games with how many breaks there are in the schedule. |

You said the tweet sums up today. Bennings appearance was a joke. What do people expect him to say? Most of what he said was accurate and correct. A rebuild is never linear. The core is solid and they will have great financial flexibility in two seasons. Benning will be gone in the summer. The only concern I have right now is who the (frank) is Aquilini going to hire. That’s terrifying. |

I see. I meant the tweet summed up Canuck Twitter, not my day specifically. I didn’t explain it well.
I liked this quote:
Jim Benning: When we planned the team out this summer, we were in the Pacific Division and were going to be playing all the teams in the league. With the pandemic, things have changed. We're in uncharted territory here. We're playing every second night. - Brendan Batchelor
The summer, after the thingy, while we were still in a pandemic, had no idea if they would even be able to get a season in, or how they could possibly plan on international travel. But it caught them off guard |

He ain’t wrong. This is a bull sh!t year. Lots of teams suck that shouldn’t. It’s the best season to be awful. The Canucks window has always been 2023-2026. Part of that is bad signings and part of it’s just how young our core is |
