I'll have to compare the original pressing of Hotter than Hell to the new 180g re-issue. Alot of the re-issues on heavyweight vinyl were cut digitally or from CD remasters and not from the analog tapes of the 70's. Depending on which type of sound you prefer the difference can be massive. Sounds like you lean more towards the tubey sound of the 70's which is a good thing. Alot of these new pressings are way to bright and loud...compressed sounding almost. You really have to research new vinyl before you buy.
- LordHumungous

Totally. The Kiss Destroyer reissue my Daughter bought last month is a perfect example. It's compressed to shit. Still sounds good but lots of the dynamics are lost. I actually mixed and mastered my band's CD back in the day. I fully understand what critical listening entails. Try explaining cancellation to 2 guitar players competing to hear themselves at rehearsal. "No, honestly, you'll get louder if you turn it down."

My expectations are that he'll be a competent to good backup goalie, lol. Don't think that's too high. But, I guess we'll see

There's what? 25 games left? Can see him getting 7-8 games with how many breaks there are in the schedule.

- NewYorkNuck

He'll come around but will take time lol. Patience really isn't a virtue around here. I for one thought I would see more of Clarkes teachings applied to Holtby's on-ice game but so far not much has happened. He looks to be falling into some of the same bad habits he had in WAS last season. Hopefully before the end of this season we see him make strides. He's meant to be the backup anyways. Demko's show now if Green has the balls to let him run with it.

He ain’t wrong. This is a bull sh!t year. Lots of teams suck that shouldn’t. It’s the best season to be awful. The Canucks window has always been 2023-2026. Part of that is bad signings and part of it’s just how young our core is
- CanuckDon

Or it’s an incredible opportunity to be good. Toronto looks as though they will have a cake walk to the final four. If they can get their poop together they may even make the Stanley Cup final. They would never have that opportunity during a typical season.

Wow...just got home from golf, what happened? This is what I read on the Athletic.

”It's been a few hours since Jim Benning took questions from media and I still don't understand why he bothered?

There was absolutely no benefit to his availability & if anything just further cemented the fact he's lost.

Don't praise the organization for this, it was a disaster.
”

Who wrote that?

I was just mentioning to a friend that the half the questions as they were being asked, anyone could have figured out what the answers would have been. They just wanted to have Benning say "the media knows more than I do about managing a NHL club"

It will be fitting if the the Leafs win it all after waiting since ‘67 only to have zero fans to witness it live.

Perhaps, it’s a fake cup. Better than the cup we have but still not the real deal

I don’t want to even think about them winning it all regardless of the circumstances. The fallout would be unbearable.

You said the tweet sums up today. Bennings appearance was a joke. What do people expect him to say? Most of what he said was accurate and correct. A rebuild is never linear. The core is solid and they will have great financial flexibility in two seasons. Benning will be gone in the summer. The only concern I have right now is who the (frank) is Aquilini going to hire. That’s terrifying.
- CanuckDon

FA would have fired him by now if he was going to get rid of him. I guess we will see over the next 16 games.

it won’t matter to the winning team’s fans and the guy who engraves the cup. No asterisk.

There are a couple of clowns in the media. Unfortunately the more they scream the more notoriety they get.

Fans love to get behind a good lynching . This idiot Dayal is a classic example. I don't know if he is the one that wrote the article but he always seems to be screaming I know more than they do.

The guy complaining about the point of the media availability. They were the ones asking the questions. Benning just answering the questions. If they didn't like the answers, maybe ask better questions.

Media gets to live in the hindsight point of view. They sit very high on the horse.

So you think they planned on participating in an 82 game season against the entire league, without considering the current situation, and then were surprised by the curveball the league sent them?

It was Rob Fei, or Frei or something like that. I think he was a 1040 employee and Athletic contributor.

I thought he blended in nicely. One or two shots . Nothing that made him stand out good or bad and played 12 minutes. It looked like Green went up to him before the game and said don't lose your position on the ice, be aggressive and don't make mistakes. He did all that.

I watched but not intently. I don’t think he played much. He was the guy who got burned on one of the goals, when Hughes pinched and turned the puck over. He tried to get back but didn’t really “do” anything.

On the whole, not terrible?

my opinion of Michaelis was pretty good . The kid played hard, was posititional sound, most of the game.
He deserves another look.

But, what the fuck do I know.

I will reply to both of you.

Yeah, a welcome to the NHL moment, be hard on your man or he will score on you.

He played more than I thought TG would play him, so he must have not done anything too bad, Or Green was in a good mood because Virtanen was saying (frank) you to him by scoring.
