Yeah the ducks did not play very well at all! They were chasing the puck and had little zone time. The powerplay with Zegras actually looked really good. He was moving the puck like he did in the world juniors with the short bumper pass to the guy in the slot.

But honestly they played against a goalie who only played 3 NHL games in his career, last one being over 6 years ago! Dallas had said the plan was to get shots on goal, well the ducks came out flat and didn't have a shot for the first 4 minutes of the game. I wouldn't say they really tested him.

Something needs to change, but at this point I hope it is minor and the coaching/management changes come during the offseason, a wholesale trade deadline getting rid of Grant, Silfverberg, Shattenkirk, Larsson and Heinen. Pick up some young/middle aged players and picks and optimize the draft with a potential lottery pick.

I can agree on the off-season moves. There should be about 20 million next year in cap space to work with. RFA signing will take around 4 or 5 million. That leaves 15 to change things. It leaves us a lot of options as to where we go. We could take on a bad contract. Or make a free agent signing. Even a big trade might be possible if a good player becomes available. Heck we could even trade Kesler to a cap floor team if they need help. So it's not all doom and gloom. There is a way after the season to change this roster.
The real question I think is what do we do with this season. I hope Bob just keeps making calls a listening. They might be able to get something worked out with another team by the off-season. And trading a player to a contender for a first is always a option. But depending on the player it probably is as good as you think. Because it will probably mean taking a bad contract back. So we trade a underperforming player out. And we take a overplayed player onto our roster. And all we get is a low first. To me that's just very iffy.
It's sad to say but maybe the best thing that Bob can do is just sit there. Do nothing. And listen to what ever trade deal that's being offered. And maybe line something up for next off-season. Well. Thank goodness it's a short season. Only half a season to go.

Team needs a reset from top down: GM, coach, most players. The only team that plays as poorly is Buffalo. A sweep by the Sharks is enough to start a fire sale.
