Marchand repeatedly gets the kid glove treatment from officials. I really don't get why. - keaner17
Its tough to figure out. Its not like he has a reputation of being a clean player and gets the benefit of the doubt.
The unfortunate truth is there are different rules for different players. |

Just don’t understand the logic to it Keaner. Play 5 minutes extra with 3 per team which is a totally different game/structure to decide a 60 minute effort.
Hate it. - nyisles7
Yeah, it's that whole bending over backwards to make it more exciting for non hockey fans. A total waste. We could set the shooters on fire and make them jump from a ramp for the entertainment aspect but that doesn't make it good hockey

If you’re implementing something to prevent something from happening you should probably just get rid of the thing you’re trying to prevent... |

Move that this team went after Marchand after that b.s. he pulled, they are a tight group and have the potential to do some damage |

When this team is playing their game they can beat anyone. If we can stay healthy we can have a repeat of last years playoffs or even better this season but that’s a definite IF. All of the other teams have to contend with the same thing but our depth is pretty limited... |

I’m at the point I think they should do whatever is necessary to get rid of those bad contracts😂😂 Can you imagine if they didn’t have 12 million in dead money on this facking roster. It’s the cash you need for those final pieces. Get it done Lou.!! |

Definitely handicapping the team and our chances this season. If we could add one depth defenseman and a third line winger we would be in a real good spot going into the second half. If we can’t dump some salary we’re going to have to start rotating Hickey or Aho and maybe Koivula. If we don’t and(when) somebody goes down we’re pretty much (frank)ed. May as well get them acclimated to some extent. |

Last night they showed a clip of Barzal stickhandling around Aho in warmups (which I think was from last nights game). Was wondering if maybe they slot him in a few games? |

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. Have to start giving someone some game time. Let’s face it we’re not making it through this season unscathed without injuries it’s not happening. We’ve been fortunate so far but to expect that to continue is unrealistic. I get trotz’s hesitation even mayfield has looked good recently and Leddy has completely turned his game around from the first ten games but to me we have to hedge our bets a bit when it’s appropriate...
Sucks to have to do it the way the team is rolling but if we create some space between us and the rest of the division we have to start inserting Aho, Koivula, whoever they think works the best(Johnston ) to give them some playing time imo. |

Agreed. It's also a matter of building some value for those guys. A couple of years ago Hickey might have been a 2nd or 3rd piece to help a trade. His arrow only points downward when collecting dust on the taxi squad. Same for Aho. The guy gets NHL playing time but then fades into obscurity. He has little to no value now.

Two more effective $5-6mm players would make this team an absolute beast. |

It would be huge. I don’t want to wait another season plus to lose some of those contracts but unfortunately that’s probably what’s going to happen |

Hickey should’ve never been signed to a four year contract for that much money to begin with. He is/was a 7th defenseman. “Don’t worry we have plenty of cap space it doesn’t matter.” |
