Three seconds(over the next two yrs) and this drafts first plus Bellows, Aho, etc... We have some assets for a couple of middle tier players... - Cptmjl
As awesome as Hall could be, I really wonder if Palmieri wouldn't be a better fit. He's scored 25+ every year he's been in the league (except for one when he had 24 in 62gp). He plays with a little bit of an edge and I have more faith that he'd buy into Trotz hockey than Hall.
That said, Hall is the supreme skill player available. At least as far as pending UFA's go. I tend to agree with Schweiner though...he seems like a guy who's about himself and pretty much nothing else. |

True but now you don’t have any of those to help get rid of some contracts next year that you’ll need to move to resign some of our own. Tricky situation for sure - Vukota
These are the games you play when you have no cap space and need help but yeah we’re in a crappy situation. |

If it were a choice between Palmeri and hall I pick palmeri everytime. Always been a fan of his. I also feel he would be a better fit and maybe cost a bit less... |

I think Palmeri would cost more since he has another year left after this year. I would love him as well |

Either way better then what we have and I’d be willing to take a shot at the right price - Vukota
That’s fair.
Personally, if Lou were to trade with Buffalo I’d rather have Staal. He’d be a hell of a lot cheaper to acquire than Hall, and seems a much better fit for Islander style hockey. Staal could be the pivot for line 2 and Nelson could move back to 2LW.

Nelson-Staal-Bailey
Or elevate Pageau up to 2C and Staal to 3C.

Kyle Palmieri is a good fit and also being a soldier for Lou in the past you have to think he’s a front runner. I wonder if Thomas Hertl would be available. Not a power forward like Lee but him and Barzal could create some magic together.
I Lee’s injury is serious enough for him to be out until the POs the Islanders 100% will be adding. |

That could work as well. I’ll tell you won’t work and that’s Leo & MDC in the lineup each night 😢😢

Bailey seems like the kind of guy that doesn't really give a poop where he plays
I mean, if someone offered me the chance to leave the poopstain Devils and compete for a Cup AND the opportunity to play on Barzal's wing...I probably wouldn't care where I lined up either |

While KP would be the safe play I would really like to see Hall & Barzal play together. That would be fun |

It would. And maybe his attitude about listening to coaches changes, if he's on a team that's at least got a sniffing chance at a Cup. |

What I said before is not accurate sorry about that. I would like Palmieri on the islanders as long as he doesn't cost us a lot. He is an ufa this summer so if we want to retain him we would have to let one or two of our players go to accommodate our cap situation |

Might not be fun for Barry
I really think that Palmieri would be the more "Islanders player" of the two. Hall has a lot of risk and he's having a pretty poop season, albeit in Barfalo. |

Agreed but it would still be fun to watch especially 3 on 3 OT |

Hall and Barzal could click I could see that happening but he has been (frank)ing awful in Buffalo. I get it they blow but not a big fan of players that mail it in no matter what the circumstances and that dude isn’t even trying out there |

Only if Barzal would defer to Hall. There’s only one puck and Hall is at his best when he has it. He’s pretty well poop without it. That’s why I didn’t think he’d match well with Eichel. |

Gotcha. Figured if he had a good set up man it would work. Maybe throw him on the 2nd line and move Beau up to the first. Spread the scoring out... |

Hall could very well work with Nelson. And God knows Bailey would defer.
Hypothetically though, what would you be willing to pay? Bellows jumps to mind. Maybe package him and a 2nd round pick? |

I mean it took a 2nd round pick just to pry a 37yo Andy Greene away from the Devils. I have to imagine it's a 1st+ to get Palmieri out of there. |
