Might be a tough fit as a 3rd line center, with Archibald and Ennis being so up-tempo. Not sure why Buffalo would be interested in a 6th plus Chiasson either. They should be just looking to get picks or prospects for their UFAs, i would think.

While BUFF may be looking to trade Staal, why would they take a struggling Turris who is going to make $2.2m actual next season? Or Chaisson? Why wouldn't they be looking to a contender with decent assets or picks to choose from. He's not going to bring back a 1st, but a 6th + Turris?

Staal Is not the answer and goaltending and defense are still more pressing needs than the Oilers lack of depth.

If Edmonton thinks they are ready for the next step they are delirious.

Why would Buffalo want Chiasson or Turris, when your sweetener is a 6th? Ridiculous. I would go bigger. Neal for Staal. Add a 1st. Add a body like Jones. Add another pick to have a 3rd team like Detroit eat part of Neal's contract to make the cap work for Buffalo. You improve now and get cap flexibility with Neal gone. This draft is weak so a 1st is good currency to spend. Because Chiasson or Turris, plus a 6th immediately leads to your number being blocked.

Solid blog Sean, but why no mention of Koskinen possibly going the other way? I mean with the addition of Stalock and the obvious organizational preference for Smith, Koskinen seems to be the odd man out. Makes even more sense when one remembers that both Ullmark and Hutton are UFA next year.

Hated to see Kassian go and would like to see him back in Buffalo but, would take Khaira and Jones for Staal.

Staal is a another left shot. We need a right shot. I’d be trying for Luke Glendening out of Detroit.

Man, the dark days of Oilers were depressing, but Jones was enjoyable to watch.

Hearing some Edmonton media push for Jake DeBrusk as well. That may be considered nepotism, but sign me up for that.

Elliot Friedman mentioned that Elvis Merzlikins could also be traded to Edmonton, but that could be a summer move.

The season I'm looking at is 2013-14 and they used SIX (frank)ing goalies.

Bachman, Labarbra, Fasth, Bryzgalov, Scrivens and Dubnyk.

Man I used to say some not nice things about his game as well as his ethnicity, but my god has he ever turned his career around. Consistency has been his biggest issue, but when he's on he's such an exciting player.

He's been a frustrating player at times, showing what he can bring but not being consistent, but has been solid af this season.
