Their best opportunity to get rid of expiring and declining assets. Trader Jim needs to step up. - manvanfan
I read from an unreliable source who said yesterday The Fourth Period said Edler was willing to waive his NMC.
Would love to see him raise the cup in a Bruins uniform

I agree with Vantel on this being a buyer’s market and being difficult to unload contracts. Sutter, Pearson, maybe. |

I think it is selfish that a player coming to the end of his career doesnt allow a team to trade them to a contender. |

If he isn’t going to retire at the end of this season, it might be a good move for him to waive. Play meaningful games, show he can still contribute on a good team....then negotiate his new contract.
Seems more likely to retire a Canuck than move, though. |

Teams have more cap space then normal thanks to the condensed schedule. Retaining a bit for expiring. Other teams will be looking for cheap cost controlled so they dont have to pay free agent prices. Why Motte is receiving lots of interest. |

Fourth Period have JV, Pearson, Edler and Sutter on their top 30 trade list. I’d be surprised to see any of these players move. |

It’s another sprint. Both Flames & Habs will play 4 more games than the ‘Nucks before the TDL (31 days) and both will likely get short term boosts from their respective coaching changes.
There should be no realistic expectation of making the playoffs (which normally means “seller”), but fans & owners can always hope.
Personally I just want to see progress with some of the kids getting to play and getting better. Haven’t seen enough of that this year, other than from Demko, Boeser & Hoglander. - SlightlyOffside
Sure. If this is QH's sophomore slump then his point production is outstanding. They can help improve his D game with a steady long term partner.
Petey seems to be improving on details and coverage. Might be well served with Podz and Gaudette/BB.
So balance the top 9 in no particular order:
C: Petey/JTM/Bo RSW: BB/JV/Gaudette LSW: Podz/Hogs/Pearson |

I could see the Jets being interested in any decent veteran defenseman and another player like Motte. |

Sutter and Pearson at TDL maybe but why not toss Edler in that mix?
Lots of clubs could use his help in the PO's? WPG?

next year:
Hughes-Schmidt
Rathbone-Myers
OJ-Tryamkin
Chatfield - dbot
Not sure if Rathbone is ready for full time NHL duty playing in watered down AHL. I'd bring back RSD Hamonic if they don't find a younger RSD in the expansion/offseason sell off. |

Hamonic I think would fit into the Jets. Well he would fit into Toronto, Edmonton as well.
Boston could use Schmidt. |

Van can take an expiring bad contract back as well to add my teams to trade too.
Trading Vanek, sometimes you just need a return for it to turn into something. Getting nothing cant be acceptable anymore. |

We should trade with CGY for Tanev as long as they retain half his salary

It has been reported that Jets were looking for a Left defenseman before Beaulieu went down, so they probably have it as a higher priority now.
I am sure they wouldn't mind having Hamonic either. |

Poolman is their 3 pairing RHD. He is probably ahead of Logan Stanley though. Beaulieu must be hurt pretty bad.
Canucks need to figure out what kind of game best suits the team. They arent fast like Tor or Wpg. Maybe its time to play a heavier game. |
