The next 8 days we have five games
* Oilers (Sat) - away
* Sens (Mon) - home
* Sens (Wed) - home
* Habs (Fri) - home
* Habs (Sat) - home
The team is hard to predict, but seems like they should be close to .500 through that stretch. I’m guessing 2-2-1 on the back of Demko and being comparatively rested.
Oilers have been good since getting wiped by the Leafs
Sens are playing better since their last series against the Canucks but are still bad
Habs split the series with us, but were the better team - SlightlyOffside
Ya home Sat night then 4 straight on the road before returning home for Mar 22 vs the Jets. 2-2-1 sounds about right I bet we get thumped by EDM then split the games vs OTT and MTL. If petey is back for the road trip might improve things. |

After watching enough of this team, I would expose both of them and hope that Seattle takes one of them.
That 6 million should be able to get them 2 reliable defenders, on the market.
As of right now, I would only be protecting Bo, Elias, Brock, Miller, Lind and Gadjovich, who i am not sure if he needs protection,.
Juolevi and Demko as well. - Reubenkincade
when is the e-draft and when do the lists have to be submitted?
depending on when the draft is, do they re-sign edler on a 1 year deal with the understanding that he'll be exposed? |

Miller is the tough guy on the Nucks.
You guys have a disfunctional team, lazy, either there is crap in the locker room or they are playing to get the coach fired.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Pettersson wants out, or Miller. - Nuckerwhatever
Sad that Miller has to be the tough guy, but, I am not opposed to having top players fighting once in awhile.
Definitely a dysfunctional team, not sure who are what the problem is, but I suspect there to be some friction in the locker room. |

The expansion draft is July 21, not sure when the list has to be provided, but I would think at least a week ahead of time. |

the silver lining to all this is that there aren't too many players who i would get upset about losing in the e-draft. |

Ya, I think Sbisa and Gaunce were the 2 best players the Canucks had to expose, Man I miss those 2. |

Protect: Bo, Petey, JTM, Boeser, Lind, Gaudette, Motte for forwards, and Schmidt and OJ for D. I believe they'll try to use some leverage to trade for a defenseman (a team like Carolina or Tampa have too many to protect) and use the third D slot to protect them.
Myers and Holtby get exposed. |

I hope Benning can take advantage of an available defenseman or 2.
Just curious, what has Gaudette done to deserve protection? If anything, I would try use him as part of the package for the available defensemen. |

Being a little busy here, have some guys working at my casa.
But yes, Sutter does provide hope, got to feel better about their play.
How about your Real Deal Neal? Still happy with that trade?
Glad he’s on the Oil, Looch coming as advertised this year. |

When the AHL started their season, the question was asked if the Comets would be playing in BC, and the answer was no, as it would be a lot of work to try get everything sorted out in time to have the Comets temporarily re-located, yet the Flames managed to get the Stockton Heat, their farm team, temporarily relocated, in that same timeframe.
So, is it because they didn't have the time to get it done, or is it because they didn't have the foresight to plan ahead?
In my opinion, it is another lost opportunity, as they can't recall players from Utica or send a player down, like DiPietro, who could use a few starts. |

I like Gaudette's compete and drive. He was a Hobey Baker winner with a wicked shot – it hasn't translated as well to the NHL but with the news of his stomach issue holding him back from training/gaining weight, I'd take another year flyer on him to see what he can accomplish and gain over the summer.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded, however. I think either he or JV will be packaged, and JV's contract is a bit harder to deal right now.
These teams have to choose three to protect:
Tampa: Hedman (have to NMC), Sergachev, Cal Foote, Cernak
Carolina: Skjei, Pesce, Fleury, Bean (that doesn't even include if the resign Hamilton)
Avs: Johnson (NMC), Girard, Toews, Graves, Makar |

I bet your favorite song is Call me Maybe.
I don’t actually like Gaunce, it’s “The Gaunce” I believe in. The 4th line guy making < $1m who gives you 8-10min a night of low event hockey, chips in the odd goal, works hard and either progresses higher in the lineup (Burrows) or gets replaced by someone from the farm team. Gaudette is a good candidate to be the next Gaunce. Could be a decent 4th liner if they work with him, but... Motte is that guy now, but he will be a UFA after next season, will likely be in line for a raise, no thanks. |

Yep better Neal than Lucic but both players are trending way down. Yep Looch is exactly as advertised 9 points in 27 games and a few fights lol
Must be nice looking up at the Oil in the standings...
