He was awful tonight....his last shift was a microcosm of his night....can’t keep a puck in....then does the old fly by on a d man and let’s the guy clear the puck.....that can’t be how AV drew up the forecheck. - landros 2
Last year, there was a lot of nice passing that Hayes was in the midst of, with TK, Laughton, and Oskar as wingers. Short little efficient passing, with players moving around into open positions.
WTF happened to that poop?!! It hascompletely vanished!!! |

I've not seen much to indicate that they should be anything but sellers at this point. I suppose they could still make the POs, but they've a ton of issues fix in a short period without benefit of much practice time. |

Looking for something good to watch? I recommend The Investigation. It’s a Danish mini-series, on HBO, about a murder investigation. It’s based on a true story. It’s a very different kind of cop/murder investigation show. Not a lot of action and you never see the murder suspect. It focuses on the cops as they try to build a case. Best thing I’ve seen in a while. - Dkos
I'd avoid this unless you're looking for something to cure your insomnia. It's just awful. Read the Wikipedia page about the Submarine Murder and it will be more entertaining without the waste of time.
Beartown on the other hand... Hockey is on the periphery of the main plot but it's much less boring. By the end of Episode 3 (of 5) you'll be waiting for more. |

The ready made excuse is covid and lack or practice time is hurting our coaching and young players...but other teams are getting it do, so...This team better turn it around quick or it will be yet another mediocre season. Even when we were winning games the problems were obvious, now those games are losses and the problems remain. |

Flyers are softer than pink cashmere. - Pixote Andolini
I don’t know white cashmere is really really soft and the flyers may even beat that. |

Yes, I want them to make a deal for sure because I don't think this team is good enough and will not become good enough. However I have no confidence that Fletcher will make a move. - jd250
There is no trade that can be made that fixes this. I hope Fletcher is smart enough to know that and doesn't make a panic move.

Hayes had been horrible, has to be 5 giveaways in the last 3-4 minutes. Gus misses a puck in the ozone, then I d zone has puck and jumps out of the way not to get checked, he is so soft |

Patrick is the least of their problems.
Granted having two potential top six players not doing poop doesn’t help ie. Patrick and Lindblom. - bird_dog_pa
Unfortunately they probably aren’t the biggest problems the Flyers have but they do have to be part of the solution, considering how much ice time they get. The team is in need of a shakeup....not sure who should see the press box or who should get dealt, but there’s still half the season left, to get this turned around. The good news is you play all the teams your chasing.

I hear you, I don't see anything happening until after the ED. Just unfortunate that we have to endure another lost year.

Did Giroux bang your wife or something. I have never seen a person have such a hard on for a particular player year after year.
Maybe therapy might be on your future. |

Honestly I have seen enough of Jake V on this team. I don't care if the Flyers have to pick up 2.5M of his salary, they need to unload him. I don't want him on this team next season. |

There is no 180 here. I want them to make trades and go for it this year! All I am saying is I don't think Fletcher will do it for a number of reasons, including 1. because as you say he doesn't want to make a panic move and 2. this team frankly hasn't played well enough to deserve a trade.

I would make this trade anyway. It may not be enough to get the Flyers in PO, but anytime you can get a top 4 Dman you have to jump on it, especially given the disarray we are currently seeing with this defense.

Yeah totally agree. Youngsters need to figure it out and after the expansion draft I'm all for Fletcher getting more aggressive in a win now mentality |

Gotta say, it’s really disappointing to see where we currently are as a team. It really seemed we turned a corner last season and we didn’t have Oskar or Patrick. It seemed we as a whole would improve just with personal growth for our younger guys (mainly dmen) and getting Oskar and Patrick back. But we just look like a different team and are so lost at times. Brutal mistakes that we didn’t make last year. I don’t know what the deal is. Losing one veteran dman doesn’t make you this rough as a team.
We just aren’t a cohesive team right now, I don’t know why. |

After watching Bergen and Forbrydelsen, I have become a big fan of Soren Malling. So, quite apart from the welcome intellectual rigor you allude to, there is that attraction as well.

I would agree and I can see one of them getting moved. The issue is I don’t see either player getting a return of value so they would most likely be included in a package deal.
Jake and or JVR and any dman not named Provorov could be traded.
Not that Provorov has been great or very good but he’s the best of the bad. |

You stated multiple times just today that the only way for this team to get better is to make a trade. If that is true, why doesn't an experienced GM like Fletcher see that also?

imo ghost has not been nearly as big of an issue as others have. It just seems like a fairly lateral move to give up that much for someone that is 30 years old. |

You don't overpay for a player just because he is a top 4 defenseman.
