The minutes that Provorov has been asked to play is not different than any other season. He has carried a large load since his rookie season. Gostisbehere is playing well on that pairing. In my opinion the Flyers poor overall team defense is the biggest factor in the team's issues and in individual players issues. Making a trade is not the miracle fix. - MJL
I don't disagree that defense is a team concept, not a individual one. However AV is pointing to a chemistry problem, i.e. finding the right combination of defenseman that can play together and compliment each other. If Ghost pairing with Provorov was working well enough in AV's eyes, I don't think he would have said what he said yesterday.

Zamula is struggling on the Phantoms according to all reports I have read, so he is not even close to getting to the next level. York just completed his 1st college season and most likely will be back for another, so he is at least another year before he plays his first pro game. If you are a team trading an established top 4 defenseman, these players will not interest you. - jd250
What reports are you reading? I haven’t heard anything beyond how Zamula’s talent level is quite evident, similar to how Sanheim and Myers were viewed at the start of their pro seasons. Normal adjusting.

The first step of our defense getting fixed is Provorov needs to play much better, he has not been playing to what he is capable of. The D-zone coverage is an absolute mess, for the forwards included. I know most teams used that F1/2/3 approach in the Dzone but that’s what leads to these wingers in front like TK covering no one. I’d rather have the actual center down there. - ClaudeFather
Good observation Claude, I thought I was the only one seeing it and didn't want to be the first to post because you know you will get dumped on by all these people that think that he is the second coming of Mark Howe. Provorov has been playing terrible most of the year and as a matter of fact most D that have been paired with him this year have seen there games go down when paired with him. Sanheim and Myers play well together, neither plays well with Provorov, Braun and Ghost are both at their worst when paired with Provorov, going back to the first game against the Penguins a couple of weeks ago and ever since Provorov has the worst plus- minus at even strength than all the rest of the D. My thinking is that its fatigue, I don't think he is capable of or should even be trying to play 25-27 minutes a game at this stage of his development. If the Flyers have all their hope in Provorov being their #1 guy than things are looking bleak for them, he could be the top guy on a second pairing or a second guy on the top pairing but he is not the top guy on a first pairing.

So what if they are not buying in to what the coaches are preaching? Do you bring in players who will buy in or keep the status quo? |

AV speaking about Phil Myers:
AV: I believe Phil has a tremendous amount of potential. One of the challenges, esp with young players is consistency. There are things we've talked about with him too often: being 1st on the puck, taking hit to make a play. When he comes back in the lineup, he'll have to improve |

My head says, do I have to answer that? But honestly, as a UFA Chara could pick his destination among his suitors. I really don’t know if the Flyers were in on him.
As for Gus, in a limited 3rd pairing, I think he has value on the power play. Regardless of what is said about him and Ghost having different styles of play, I can only think that if Ghost were to be used in trade, having Gus makes more sense. - NC Flyers Fan
Washington was out in the first round of the playoffs last year right? What was the appeal signing with the Caps for basically NHL minimum? |

The last time those two spent any real time together was the 5-2 loss to Pittsburg Provorov -4 Ghost -3. Ever since Ghost has been a plus player at 5 on 5

Could we see Carter Hart to the taxi squad for Sandstrom if he does not get his rebound control figured out? |

I dont understand why people keep engaging this dude. He doesn't even know that York is a Sophomore....it's so clear he's a lonely and lazy troll. His troll game isnt worthy of your engagement.
Not talking about you NC.....talking about who your are in exchanges with. |

Those aren't Don Beaupre's stats from 1985, they are Carter Hart 2021. |

Here is a quote from a report on Broad Street Hockey:
Egor Zamula (LHD), Lehigh Valley Phantoms (AHL)
Undrafted
3/3 - 0 SOG
3/6 - 0 SOG
Combined note below!
Linus Hogberg (LHD), Lehigh Valley Phantoms
2016 5th Round Pick, 139th overall
3/3 - 1 assist, 0 SOG
3/6 - 1 SOG, 2 PIM
It was, again, a pretty quiet week for Hogberg, though he did pick up an assist. He spent it paired with Zamula, and it’s a pair that, in short, isn’t really working. They’re both still adjusting to the AHL level, we’ll acknowledge that, but both have struggled on breakouts, meaning they’ve often been caught hemmed into their own end on their shifts, which has in turn hindered their offensive games. Maybe they turn it around with more reps, but right now they’re feeling some bad habits in each other.
I also read from our guy Bill that Zamula has been struggling to adjust so far this year. I also want to correct something I said earlier about York. He is actually turning Pro after this season, so he should be joining at least the Phantoms next year. How well and fast he adjusts will determine if/when he starts making an impact.

Wouldnt Hart have to go through waivers? Absolutely no chance of that. |

Ok, so that goes to my second question? What insider info do you have that said Fletch didn't explore signing Chara?

He should call him since he seems to know all the inner workings of who offered Chara what.
And its kind of silly pointing to an early exit is last year's bubbleoffs as a reason why a player at the end of his career wouldn't want to sign with a team clearly built to win NOW.
