Canadian clubs have to deal very soon because of quarantine issues with American teams. It may be more advantageous for them to trade with a Canadian club if possible. Like instead of Montreal trying to acquire Ekholm, why not try to acquire Vancouver's Nate Schmitt?? Maybe for Mete, a 2nd and a 3rd?

- HenryHockey

Whoops the money will not work there...It would have to be Byron, Mete, and 2-2nds, Expensive! and Van would not want Byron.......Nevermind

Yeah, the Canadiens are linked to Ekholm, It would be better if the Quarintine can be knocked down to a week if there are several negative tests in a row.

Ok, so same question as to G. Are you saying that if Detroit beat the under of -1.5 the payout was 950 to 1? I am so confused here
- Jeremy Laura

I don't gamble on sports, but I think what this means is that if Detroit won by 2 or more goals (that's the -1.5), then a $100 bet would return a $950 profit (so total payout of $1,050). So a little less than 10 to 1 essentially.

Ok guys, I avoid sports gambling because a buddy of mine lost his house. When you say 4.00 is that 4 to 1? The gambling has just gone through the roof and I just know absolutely nothing about it.
- Jeremy Laura

Yes. 4 to 1. I didn't have the courage to bet Detroit. I picked Caigary, Washington and Chicago. I won my ticket. But it would've been worth 4 times as much if I picked Detroit.☹️

Ok, now I get how Marty McFly made his stepdad rich in Back to the Future 2. Good grief that’s a haul!

Wow. I don’t blame you though. Last night was anomalous. Ok, when you say “ticket”, does that mean that you have a few different things going on, and you just have to win more than half? Good grief I’m kind of stupid with this

It's official after this game, Adam Erne has no business In an NHL arena unless he pays the price of admission.

I'm in Ontario. I play proline. So I pick 3 games a night. I usually bet 2 dollars (minimum), 5 or 10 if I'm feeling very confident. You have to pick a minimum 3 games.

So if I pick say 2.00 times 2.00 times 4.00 and multiply it by $5 then my payout is $80. I play for fun because I'm watching the games anyway and it makes it more interesting. It's why most people go in football pools. Or hockey fantasy drafts.

Nowadays hockey fans talk about their Fantasy teams and pretend they're the only person on the planet who has McDavid or Matthews on their fantasy teams. Ok so that's an exaggeration. 🤣

But I'd never gamble big money on any sport. Especially hockey. It's too unpredictable. People will only tell you how much money they've made but will never tell you how much money they've lost.

Personally there's years where I've made a slight profit and there's been years I've lost money. But I've never claimed to be a gambling expert like many people do. I don't bet nearly enough money to lose my house.

Jimmy Tanner says renting is better than buying so there's that. 🤣 My house is paid for and I'd rather not lose it. 👍

Erne is Stevie's Boy. He isn't going anywhere. Yzerman will re-sign him. I predicted the same thing last season. He doesn't really help or hurt the team. He's a body. Holland had his favourites too. Yzerman drafted Erne in the 2nd round. He obviously likes him. I've accepted Erne will be on this Red Wings team now and next season.

As I recall, I looked very briefly into his metrics back when Yzerman first acquired him (because I knew literally nothing about him) and came away with the impression that he could be a decent third or fourth line winger who could at least tread water and maybe even help out a bit defensively.

Then last year happened, and he was awful. Worse than advertised at both ends of the ice, but especially offensively.

This year I feel like he's back to being more or less what I thought he was going to be in the first place. Not much more than a body, but at least not a huge drag on the team. Hopefully last year was the aberration and not this one.

Erne has been better this season in that I've noticed him more. I don't ever expect him to score or create offense so it's a bonus when he does. Maybe Stevie realized that Erne won't be the top 6 winger he envisioned when he drafted him.

He'll be a serviceable bottom 6 guy who can play 8-10 minutes a night and not make much money. Which is fine. All teams need those guys. I'd definitely rather have Erne in the lineup over Filppula or Nielsen. He's likely a bridge player until our good prospects are ready to make the jump to the NHL.

Yeah, that’s fairly benign. My Buddy would find himself down 10k before he’d start worrying. Some people just can’t handle it at all. Your setup sounds a lot like how people play the lotto. Smart on owning btw

McElbackup was a sieve. But, the blame can't be solely pinned on him. Detroit capitalized on their chances and they were long overdue to beat the Bolts. Bernier put in a solid effort. If Vasi was in that game, it probably has a different result. And that last fact underscores just how reliant the Bolts are on Vasi. God forbid, if Vasi ever gets hurt, the Lightning are phucked.

Just claim him. He’s instantly be the best LHD on the team. Then work on dumping Staal and Nemeth.
