There’s some nice covers out there but they mostly just sound like Chris Issac. I like when artists make it their own, or (in the case of Stone Sour) step way outside their normal style of music.
Have you listened to the Chris Cornell “No One Sings Like You Anymore Vol 1” album? Really enjoying it.
I copied this comment from another site, but it is so true and makes you think, is it a good idea to bring in kids at seasons end, to burn a year on ELC.
How could the Canucks have used $4.9 mil in extra cap space last season? Would that have been enough to push them a round further in the playoffs?
What if the Canucks had an additional $5-6 mil in cap space next season? Could they then afford to sign Pettersson long term?
That is the cost and lost cap space the Canucks gave up for almost nothing by burning a year of ELCs for Boeser and Hughes by putting them in for a handful of games. Did Boeser's 2nd contract reflect the $4.9 mil favour the Canucks did him? I don't think so. Will Hughes consider the value of losing a year of his ELC this offseason? I doubt it. Would the Canucks benefit from not having Pettersson and Hughes contract dates a year apart? A kid is not going to school for 2 years and lose $8-10 mil over his career for the sake of earning $900k.
Hockey journalists and bloggers who routinely criticize the Canucks for mismanagement (often with just cause) are all in on wasting another $3-5 mil two years out by supporting the Canucks needlessly burning a year of Podkolzin's ELC. The value and the risks being averted are not nearly worth the cost of burning a year of ELCs for a handful of games. Podkolzin doesn't even have the option college players have.
Give a veteran UFA a year too long at $3 mil and calls go out to fire everybody involved. The same writers (this isn't specifically about Faber) strongly support wasting money for almost no return. Seems like hypocrisy to demand fiscal responsibility on one hand and encourage the blatant waste of cap space with the other. - Reubenkincade
I agree, it’s a terrible waste of resources, but the flip side I guess is the increased risk that the player will opt not to join the team down the road. If you tell Hughes you won’t sign him, maybe he goes back to school another year, and another, and decides to test free agency. Or Podkolzin signs another KHL contract and goes back into the draft in two or whatever years.

I've listened to some of that. I have a covers playlist on Spotify. I agree with the idea of not sounding just like the original. Check out "Rocket Man" by My Morning Jacket, "Pictures of Matchstick Men" by Camper Van Beethoven, "Midnight Rider" by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, "Dreams" by The Electric Peanut Butter Company or "Could've Been a Lady by Smoove & Turrel. To name a few.

Ya, it is a risk drafting anyone these days. Players from Europe, College and junior leagues can all just not play and re-enter the draft or become free-agents.
Thos has been an issue for many years and needs to be addressed.
Benning said any trade made with a US team, the player wouldn't be able to play for 3 weeks. The deadline in April 12th. I think he's still trying to figure out if he's going to be a buyer or seller. - VanHockeyGuy
Van makes a deal with Carolina. Gardiner waives and is traded to Van or Van claims him on waivers and then trades Schmidt to Carolina for a 1st plus Jack Drury. Van buys out gardiner next season. Cap hit of 1.2-1.4 for 4 more years. That's managelable for the Chris Gear.

If Green could develop players, Green wouldn't need to yell and scream so much. - manvanfan
Lets face it, that was an awefull effort on Wednesday, they will be better tonight. As long as they entertain I'm happy which wasn't the case on Wednesday.
Yeah.
Green really failed at developing Tyler Myers.

That falls 50/50 between him and baumer. Hughes isnt getting better either. OJ isnt allowed to play. Benn was still 23% better in MTL. Claude julien is still available.
