The term soft goal has been around since the game was invented. - shack67
It really hasn't
A loss tonight would make for an amusing next 4 days in here.
Lol
They should be able to win though |

Agree, horrible game by everyone. Coach was awful, goalie was awful, offense was unwilling to shoot at a backup goalie,Only players willing to shoot were Nylander and Muzzin. That penalty at the end by Keefe was butal. Officiating was terrible but you don't do that. - winsix
I actually thought that was a good move by Sheldon. The way I saw it, that was also a msg to his team... They weren't winning that late in the 3rd so he goes off and I'm sure there was more than a little frustration directed towards the guys w/o actually having to light someone up on the bench.
Leafs 7-2 tonight... No way they go into a little break with a loss.... |

I agree with you. I also think it was showing the team that Keefe is with them. That he would fight for them too. |

You’d think today would be Dubas’ TDL. Only 4 games over the next two weeks (quarantine). Yes, boys and girls time to talk trades |

Will be happy with any win tonight. This is the Sens playoffs tonight, few games matter more to this crap team.
As far as Keefe goes, it was partly on him that the Leafs didn't shoot enough at a (frank)en back up goalie. On the penalty - He only (frank)ed the team with that penalty, game was over I agree. But if he felt the officicals (frank)ed him in that three game series go after the source. Have Shanny send video evidence to the League and quietly launch a major protest about the officiating. Get the ref(s) fined, get them suspended, make sure they are not on the playoff eligible list for incompetence. Much better revenge.

Timing is right, Preds and Sabres are basically easy targets - who do the Leafs move?

Why move anyone? Why panic now? This team doesn’t need any pieces because they are clear favourites and should eviscerate the North.
Nothing is wrong. Nothing to see here. |

One ray of light in this mess of a game:
I saw Nylander backcheck.
Like a freakin' unicorn springing from the g-spot of Atlantis, I saw Nylander backcheck. - sokosteve

(frank) that. Game was over and he needed an old school team building moment. I would have thrown a few sticks on the ice and taken the $50k fine too.
That call on Hyman was pure bullpoop. |

Only positive points from that game last night were that Tavares looked good again after a stretch of mediocre games, and 3rd line was ok. Rest really bad |

A middle 6 fwd who can play C and W and ideally add some of that mysterious playoff grit and is hard to play against.
And a veteran LHD.
Both rentals. |

Other than a few hard combos: MM/AM, JT/WN upfront and MR/Brodie and Holl/Muzz on defence, Keefe seems to want versatility more than anything else. He’s ready to move pieces around. Is Hyman going to be on the third line or first or both, etc. So, yeah a guy who can play both C and W makes sense as does rental.
Getting a D as well will be tricky |

It was all downhill after the 🦒 scored a beauty and it didn’t count
Not sure why they’d take the 3rd line apart when for a few nights they were the best line.
Is Hyman that important when we have $11m $11m $11m $7m guys?

I actually like Hyman on the HEM line -- as much as his elite puck retrieval skills can help the top line, I think he drives that 3rd line and gives his mates some looks. |

He’s the shooter on that line
He probably likes it too, instead of just trying to get it to AM MM |

I'm curious if Matthews will be playing tonight. He has been the driver for that line, and last night he didn't look unmotivated, he looked like he was struggling to control and manage the puck, which, considering his injury, is a little worrisome. |
