That makes sense.

The other person was mentioning about being able to send DiPietro to Utica which didn't make sense

Benning would need to have an "if we get him" deal in place quick. We'll see.

I seen a comment from someone that Canucks will scoop him up but then they need to put him right back on waivers to get him on the taxi squad.

Thay could carry 3 goalies and send down Michaelis, dress 7 defensemen.

I would consider it. As Load Management said at start of season( he is a goalie), DiPietro needs to play games, so send him to Utica, talk to Flames about having him play for Stockton(who are playing in Calgary).
They should be able to find somewhere for MDP to get some games.

I wrote about this a week or so ago, even though in theory it sounds like the proper move , Mikey would have had 4 or 5 games only in the last year in a watered down league.

DiPietro and Gilles (St L ) would have shared the net and Utica has played limited games and are currently not playing.

Although the Blues have an “agreement”, if DiPi was in Utica you know he would be getting the games - Krull works for Aqua (Benning) and the Canucks best interests would be served.

That is why i was suggesting trying to get him some games with a team north of the border. 2 weeks 3 or 4 games better than no games and then back to practise with Clark.
I am not sure if taxi squad practices with main squad or not, so if they don't, MDP isn't really getting a chance to face nhl calibre shots, so the only advantage is having access to Goalie coach.

It is good to check out all avenues . All Canadian AHL teams have at least three goalies and as many as five that they are trying to develop. So sharing time with them would probably be even less than if he went to Utica.

It is a screwed up year.

Wow sad news that Russian kid Timur Fayzutdinov from the KHL St Petersburg Dynamo passed away today. Took a puck to the head hit his carotid artery.

RIP

If nothing else, he might be worth claiming and flipping at TDL for a pick, to a team that suffers an injury to a goalie.
From what I recall, he could at least stop a puck, unlike Holtby.

I seen the play . It looked like a normal shot to the helmet from the angle I seen. It must have hit him in the temple . Very sad results for the young captain.

Unlikely we get him, there are 12 teams who pick ahead of us.

I would claim him.

I know Don laughed at this idea but in about three weeks I would give Mike D the starts they were going to use on Holtby.

I realize that at the moment they are trying to make the playoffs but at some point you need to start looking at what is best for next year.

Canucks have been the hottest team in the North in the month of March and have 10 pts in the last 7 games but the two teams they are chasing also picked up 9 and 8.

Holtby will probably be gone next year so give Mikey some net time win or lose.

Byron on waivers too. With Beags and Rousell out we could re-bolster our fourth line...

Unbelievably sad. One in a million shot to hit that carotid artery but doesn't change that fact that it's bloody awful.
