The Ducks are shopping Troy Terry. Middle six player, can play all forward positions. Would he be a decent 3rd line center?? - HenryHockey
If they want more than a 5th they can keep him. |

Prospect news!
The Detroit Red Wings on Sunday signed defenseman Donovan Sebrango to a three-year entry-level contract beginning with the 2021-22 season.
Sebrango, 19, signed an amateur tryout with the Griffins on Jan. 20 and has registered one assist and 14 penalty minutes through his first nine AHL contests. A third-round selection (63rd overall) of the Red Wings in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-1, 190-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario, spent the last two seasons with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League, posting 30 points (6-24—30) and 33 PIM in 56 games last season after compiling 26 points (7-19-26) and 54 PIM in 62 games during the 2018-19 campaign.
The son of former Cuban soccer pro Eduardo Sebrango began this season by playing five games with HK Levice in Slovakia, totaling three points (1-2—3) and 50 PIM.
Hoping the 50 PIM in 5 games is a typo |

It is not, apparently.
5 minutes + 20-minute misconduct for "fist fight, roughness" (Google translate), presumably fighting. Looks like there was a bit of a brawl, since 3 other players (2 for each team) all got 25 minutes during the same stoppage and one additional player got 2 minutes.
5 minutes + 20-minute misconduct for "head and neck attack," presumably a hit to the head.
I have not seen or watched or heard about either of these games, just reading the game reports. |

KHL defenseman has passed away after being hit by a puck near his ear/jaw line area. RIP
After a fluke accident in yesterday's game, Timur Fayzutdinov of the KHL's Dynamo St Petersburg hockey club has passed away.
We brought you the story yesterday after Fayzutdinov took a puck to the front of his head that looked like trouble from the immediate impact.
Today Timur Fayzutdinov, the defenseman from Dynamo St. Petersburg passed away. 💔
My deepest condolences to Timur's family and friends. Sending love and prayers during this difficult time 🙏
Timur will always be in our hearts and may you rest in peace 🙏♥️ pic.twitter.com/mpOL8BZdY4

This is what we knew then:
Fayzutdinov has suffered a life threatening injury and new details have emerged on his condition. His condition has steadily declined since being admitted to the hospital. He suffered a fracture to the temporal bone and a cerebral hemorrhage, and the medical prognosis is not balancing in his favor. Fayzutdinov is completely intubated as both his heart and lungs have seized independent operation. The damage is believed to be caused by a puck around his exposed ear and jawline, which is consistent with his injuries.
The current complication is that doctors understand he needs an immediate operation on his damaged artery, but they are able to perform this surgery at the current facility. They are also concerned about his survivability if he were transported to another facility.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his Fayzutdinov's family and friends at this horrible time.

My son just showed me the video. It was a fluke, but in all my years of playing and coaching, players wear their chin strap really loose (I did too), but the purpose of it is to keep the helmet down to protect the forehead, temple area and back of head. I used to fold my ear straps up and out of the way, and would usually forget to strap up several times per game. Everyone removed the ear guards as well, at least they used to. Some refs still check for them, but I see plenty of amateur players without them.
I don't know if a tight chin strap and ear guards would have prevented this, but it's certainly a reminder of how quickly life can be taken in just a fraction of a second, even during the most innocent of plays. |
