Ertz is a contract extension, think that's the holdup, haven't heard anything on Dunlap other then what Stripes said.

Fired fired... not promoted fired? Not a new department of synergy at pse? Not even cabin boy duties on the yacht.

Steve Smith is fired as well.
Granato survives.

interesting.

- ImThatGuy

Smith was loyal to Ralph for retaining him from the Housley regime. I wonder if he quit or if it's a real firing

MATT ELLIS!!!!!!!
COACHING!

- ImThatGuy

We all knew we'd end up here.

I'm already convinced these two amateurs in Girardi and Ellis will be more helpful.

Kill me.

Nothing yet. Just depends on how much longer the Pegulas want to be the ass end of the hockey world. Find one pundit that isn't asking .."what the (frank) are they doing?" The feel is that he gets the can today or tomorrow, but who the (frank) knows.

Dunlap appears to be falling into the tier 2 market, which is really the only market we have any business being in. The Bills are already spending 17.5M in cap on two DEs, so I don't know how you bring in a respected veteran talent. I think Beane will have to hit the bargain bin on this one. Or draft a guy he thinks can start in 22.

The Eagles are 4.5M over the cap and the league year starts today. Since the Eagles have allowed Ertz's camp to negotiate a trade, he will in fact be traded, and likely soon. However, his cap hit is monstrous, and it's a strong possibility that teams he's negotiating with are including a restructuring of his contract. Maybe the Bills add a year to it and backload it into 22 and/or 23. If the Bills can manage to get his hit down to 4-6M and use a day 3 pick to acquire him, I think it's a huge win.

You gotta think he was fired. There is no way that he would survive two coach firings.

Vogl reporting that it seems like they'll go with interim coaches through the end of the year. That makes sense - no reason to rush into a new hire.

I’m guessing Ellis has helped Mitts look like a hockey player... Ellis also broke jack, so maybe tone the workouts down just a little bit. Lol

Reportedly Granato, Ellis and Girardi won't get raises, but they will get an additional 10% off at the Sabres store

If you are really sticking with Kevyn and are not bringing in an AGM or consultant... there is no reason not to have discussions with the coaches on the sidelines.

If they want to revamp the front office a little, add a agm or consultant or poho, you clearly figure that out first... then work on coaches.

Also props to Gerbe AGAIN! Appreciate you kid! And to the other poster who popped in last night, was it 39? I can’t remember. But thank you to all the insiders who try to bring a little light into a tough Sabres stretch.

There's quite a division of opinion, between "Hire a guy right now" and "Hire a guy in the offseason"

I'm in the latter, I feel it's more prudent to work with a bigger pool.

However, if you truly love one of those guys available right now, I don't see the point in waiting.

Nice man, Ralph is.

But this needed to happen.
Full stop.

Personally, I wish Ralph well in his future endeavors.
This just wasn't the right fit at the right time for him for whatever reason.

I just would like to wish him well.
He's not the only problem here as we all know.
This problem runs deeper than just the head coach.

Find a knife and shove it into my temple.

And for those not listening, Steve Smith canned too. Interesting.
